I was thoroughly enjoying this book for the first part (approx.6hours), but by the second part (another 6 hours) I was done with the story...I just fastforwarded huge chunks to get to the end. The guy kept relapsing and relapsing. Plus the neverending parade of model girlfriends, used and abused; I just had enough.
*Dull, tedious, and repetitious; lacking in variety and interest.
This is a classic story. Loved the movie and wanted to compare to original book. I was surprised that this was written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I heard of him, of course, but did not know he was responsible for this story. After seeing The Great Gatsby by the same author, I will definately listen to that in the near future, hopefull with the same narrator.
Not as good as the Glass Castle, but still a great story.
I like the author's style of writing and she is good at narrating her own material.
I loved this book! I wanted to listen to it again and I for sure will. I am also a huge fan of Andy and the Real Housewives franchise, so it was so nice to get to know him better. I laughed a lot listening to this book. And, the fact that Andy narrated it himself was awesome!!!
I did not love this book. It was okay. If you were to ask me, "should I buy it", I'd ask you what you were expecting. If you're expecting the same quality as Crank and Glass, I'd say No. If you were just interested in reading more from this offer, then sure, go ahead. But, it is not as good as those other two books. I have read this book and Perfect by Ellen Hopkins, but neither comes close to the same feeling I had reading Crank and Glass.
This was a cute girly book. I am almost 30, was bored of the books I was reading, wanted something fluffy and fun in the summer. This did the trick.
I have wanted to read this book for years now. I attempted to read this 2 years ago and could not get past 100 pages. The content, while incredibly honest, was too raw for me.
I recently attempted to listen to it on audio, but again, am finding it too much. Depressing, dry and again, raw. I work in addictions so I think that this book is just too much of the same stuff I deal with in my everyday life. Not for me, but maybe for someone who is unfamiliar with addiction, specializes in addiction, or studying addiction.
Because I was reluctant to read yet another celebrity biography, I was reluctant to get this book.
I read all the reviews and decided to give it a go.
I wasn't disappointed.
It gives a new face to Rob Lowe. I would definitely recommend.
Not as good as A Complicated Kindness, which I loved, but alright.
It's more of the same, funny, cute and a variety of unique characters.
But, again, not as good as A Complicated Kindness.
I was reluctant to purchase this audio book because of all the comments about it being narrated in the voice of a 5 year old boy and how annoying/difficult it was to listen to.
However, I must say that the voice was not that bothersome for me. I loved this book, I thought it was original and unique. I would recommend it in audio or print.
I started listening to this book because a friend of mine recommended it during the "50 Shades" craze. I was surprised at how much I disliked this book. I did not get very far. I found the content not sexy but disturbing.
