A delightful look at a dysfunctional Irish American family. The characters are interesting and often amusing. I did not like the abrupt ending of the book and felt it was not consistent with the flow of the book. I was disappointed, and it seemed like a weak ending to a strong story line.
I have read all of Jennifer Weiner's books, and have enjoyed them. I was looking forward to listening to this one, but was terribly disappointed. It was too short, and seemed to be a quick book that was written for a deadline. It read more like a magazine story than a book. Too much money for too little content
I am not sure I would have enjoyed the book quite as much if I had read it rather than listened to it. Alison Larkin added so much to her characters in her narration that it was an very engaging book for listening. With the addition of the English accent, southern and New Jersey accents listening was a rich experience. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I do not usually write reviews, but this was a great book to listen to.
