I'm so happy I can add a writer to my favorites. I am never disappointed by a Jo Nesbo book.
Being lead on for so long.
The narrator was good.
Stupidity, plus, going through the property, Booooring. If you got to meet some of the characters the story revolved around "Somewhere" along the way it might have been more tolerable. You were just lead on a wild goose chase to "nowhere."
A grown man hanging with two kids was dumb. A guy wasting his time trying to redeem himself for What??? An ex-wife that had no purpose in the story, and a daughter who, as well, served no purpose. I'd think he was a bad father too.
Yes. Because Gabriel Alon and the gang is so amazing. Every adventure gets better. This series never gets boring, and Daniel Silva is one of the best writers of this genre. I feel totally entertained when I'm finished reading one of his books.
Gabriel, of course.
Yes. This is one of his better characters.
Keep them coming Mr. Silva. You make some of us very happy to receive your stories.
FAN TAS TIC
None. James Lee Burke is a unique writer.
Will Patton is such a great narrator that each character is distinct enough to love.
Fast paced and thought provoking.
Love Gretchen. She really adds a fresh character to this series, one I would be disappointed to see not included in every book. Also glad that Aliphair has more to do. This gives the novels a chance to grow up and into a new generation. And Wyatt and his woman are such welcome additions. How will Burke deprive us of them now? They are amazing new characters.
I doubt it. Bad writing.
All of them.
The dialogue must have repeated itself over and over and over....again till you thought, Huh? It was just taking up space for bad writing. Plus, no one would act like this in a real situation. It was ridiculous. I had to stop after a chapter because it was too silly to suspend my imagination that far.
Not really. I'd save my money for something more interesting.
I don't think so.
Yes, I suppose so.
Sorry I got it. Couldn't even really finish it.
Jo Nesbo is one of my favorite writers. This is the first in this series so it really gave me a good idea of how he started out, yet it didn't feel dated at all.
Yes, as usual.
I like Sean Barrett.
I will read every Jo Nesbo book that comes out in this series.
Yes. The entire series was very entertaining considering all that's going on in this part of the World.
Maybe Daniel Silva spy novels, but just because they are Middle East based because Daniel Silva and his character Gabriel Allon really aren't similar. They have an entirely different premise, but it has the intrigue of that part of the World.
He did very well with the character's voices.
If you want to be entertained I think this will be a good choice.
Darn Good writing! Good writing is when you make it seem so "easy." Great characters, and always a top-notch mystery to solve in a wonderful location. There's always a philosophical bent to the way Craig Johnson writes, and his Walt Longmire character is such a likable, wise, and unassuming man that what he says sticks with you. Like good 'ol horse sense. His friends are just as amazing. The Indians on the "Res", their way of living their lives. They display simple wisdom. It just all works to make this whole series "Different."
You can't compare Walt Longmire mysteries to any other books because they are unique.
Walt, and really, all of them because they are all so unique, lol.
Yes, it made me laugh because there is so much irony in the things that are said. There are so many dry and funny things said. Cry? Yes, because sad sides of human nature are exposed.
I love this series. There are a few series I will always look for and this is one of them.
Don't generally listen to books twice.
There was a lot of depth to the subject of the book plus it was a good mystery. It was different than your average mystery.
She is an excellent narrator. One of the best I've heard when it comes to women. She has lots of subtlety and wonderful dynamics to her voice. Terrific.
Well worth the purchase. I think I even lucked out and got it at one of the sales.
Who would believe a sophisticated guy like this would fall for a girl who comes off as "Stupid" as this? Her voice makes her sound like a total "ditz." They should have gotten someone else to narrate this. She ruined everything I heard about this book for me.
