I enjoyed the story (I have a daughter from China) and the descriptive way it was written. However, I was very unhappy with the narrator...she sounded like she had a mouth full of saliva and her swallowing was audible (no pun) and distracting.

After having listened to Silver Wattle, Tuscan Rose and Wildflower Hill I was so looking forward to this book, but contrary to the other reviewers I couldn't stand the narrator's voice - especially for Simone - and couldn't even finish listening to it. Compared to the other books, I found the story didn't keep my interest. I hardly ever actually write a review - just use the star system - but this one...oh my...not in my top ten.

I didn't think I'd ever enjoy a "war book" being a girly-girl - but this is so much more - simply one of the best books I've ever listened to. Character development was supreme and the story - because it's true - even more amazing. The narrator was first class. I high recommend this book!

I enjoyed this as much as other Sandra Brown books - perfect beach book!

This book was so interesting and the best narrated book I've listened to. Didn't want to put it down until the end. I highly recommend this book! it sticks close to historical facts and the story is very well written.

Right from the beginning I knew I wouldn't be able to put this one down! I had just finished Smash Cut and this one was even better! And I love Victor Slezak's narrating.

I really enjoyed this book (except for the part about the dog) and would recommend it to anyone who likes interesting twists, a great narrator and suspense right up to the end!

I absolutely loved this book...the different characters narrated by different people made this book come alive for me. I had a knot in my belly the whole book...holding my breath as the characters did and I couldn't "put it down!"
