I wish the baby's grave had been found to give closure to the mother.
I didn't really like or dislike Noel. Perhaps more stories about her mid wifery would have helped.
The book was an easy and interesting read. It was a little predictable but worth listening to.
This book would m make a good movie. It reminded me of classic Stephen King science fiction. If you like Stephen King, you will like this book.

I enjoyed this book. I just feel that I might have liked the abridged version better. Some time was spent on describing scenes that could have been left out.
All in all, it was a very good book. I especially loved the humor.
Be sure to have tissues handy towards the end. You will need them.
This book started slow for me. However, once you get a few chapters in you will become hooked!
I also found the information regarding women's rights and the superiority of men at the time to be very interesting and informative. The author did a good job on research.
Don't get the idea that this is a book about women's rights. It is not.
It is a love story, drama, and thriller all wrapped up into one.
As a fan of Edgar Allen Poe's writings, I was surprised to find out that what I always believed true about his life was not. The epilogue clarifies many misconceptions that I had.

I love Jodi Picoult's books. The story was here was depressing and I found it hard to feel as sorry for the mother as I think I was supposed to feel.
However true to form, there was a surprise ending. And this one was something I didn't see coming!
