Packaging this information in a parable form is unique. An amazing amount of information in a very short audio book. I had listened to several other books on the subject before listening to this one, and I would recommend the same. What I found this audiobook did for me was to cement in and clarify several of the ideas presented by others on this subject. I would think if you started with this, several of the more subtle messages might be lost. As something to tie it all together, I thought this was excellent.
The parable is presented in the style of an old time radio story. This presentation style might not work for everyone, but I really enjoyed it.
If you ever wanted to stick a "Question Authority" bumper sticker on your car, this is probably the audio book for you. A refreshing look inserting facts and data into debates that fueld by speculation. It will probably change the way you accept the "facts" presented to you by politicians and the news media.
My only complaint is this book should have been about twice as long as it was. I was enjoying it too much and it ended much too soon
Practical in your face advice. Essentially the whole program is spend less than you make ... get rid of any debt you have ... start investing that money instead you will be rich before you know it. He outlines the way to do this very simply (just rememember simple and easy are not the same thing.) I have energetically started the process he describes. It is something I knew I should do long before I listened, but Dave presented it in a way to get me off my keester and get going on it.
The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the religious themes and references in the book. While I would defend his right to put them in I think they end up distracting from his presentation.
Previous reviews seem to indicate that either you love or hate this audio book. I can see why. I believe it is hard to argue with the information he presents ... all good stuff right on target and very complete. What really sets this apart is the way it is presented and the way he tries to get it cemented into your brain. T. Harv Eker has a very unique style of presentation and teaching. Part silly, part sarcastic, part in your face, although never lacking in energy.
If you like the presentation style, I believe you will love this offering (which I did.) However it is easy to see how he could rub some people the wrong way. I wish I could think of a litmus test to tell you if you would be one that likes him or not but nothing comes to mind. So it comes down to paying your money and taking your chances. You will know very quickly in whether you will turn out happy or not. I turned out happy.
