Is there anything you would change about this book?

Different author. I kept thinking that I should have felt some kind of emotional connection to this story, but I never did. It's a shame. The actual story about Camila has so much potential with the right author. There were a lot of holes in the story--pieces that I was surprised the author had just left out.

What other book might you compare The Dressmaker of Khair Khana to and why?

Three Cups of Tea. Both good stories with bad authors. Three Cups of Tea ended up being full of falsehoods. This one has been accused of the same thing.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    Titanic Fever

Did The Dressmaker of Khair Khana inspire you to do anything?

Have a book club discussion about the book.

    Any additional comments?

Emotionally devoid. Shame on this journalist for not being able to produce a better book.

One of the best-known stories in American culture, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz has stirred the imagination of young and old alike for over 100 years. Best Actress nominee Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married, Alice In Wonderland), fresh from filming one of this year’s most anticipated films, The Dark Knight Rises, lends her voice to this uniquely American fairy tale.

What did you love best about The Wonderful Wizard of Oz?

My 5 year old listened to this book with me over two days. We both enjoyed it. I was amazed at Anne Hathaway's versatility in her narration. Only 1 or 2 of her voices were quite annoying. The rest were marvelous. My five year old was completely captivated and listened to this book straight over many hours.

What did you like best about this story?

The ending (after the hot air balloon takes off with the wizard) is so different from the movie. My five-year old says, "I love the part where the wall is made out of china and the people are made from china.

Which character – as performed by Anne Hathaway – was your favorite?

Dorothy and the Tin Man were our favorites.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but we couldn't finish it; we had a life to live along the way!

    Any additional comments?

Highly recommend for kids. What a treat that it was free!
