In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

I was hesitant due to the comparisons to The Hunger Games because I loved that book, but I gave in and I finally found another series to read between my current ones. This book is definitely NOT the hunger games but it is a great book on its own. I am definitely moving on to the next book.
The narration is perfect! They did a great job finding a narrator for this book.
This is a definite "you've got to read" book for all ages!

I didn't mind the music or sound effects. I think it added to the story. The narration was spot on. I can't wait to get to the next book!

Number-one New York Times best-selling author Charlaine Harris has won numerous awards for her Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire series, which has been adapted into the hit HBO show True Blood. In this 13th and final book, a murder rocks the town of Bon Temps and Sookie is arrested for the crime. After making bail, she sets out to clear her name - but her investigation only leads to more deaths.

    ***NO SPOILERS***
First, I really thought the entire first half of this book was boring and Harris wanted all the previous characters to make a cameo in the book just because it is the last book. There were really no reasons for most of the people who cameoed to be in the book, they served no real purpose. It made me feel like it was the end of a long loved tv series and everyone comes out to take a bow, even the extras. She could have taken out all those pointless scenes and made the book way more exciting.

I've been a fan of every sookie book written, even the not so good ones. This book lacks everything that is Sookie Stackhouse. I am very disappointed in this book as the ending of our beloved heroine. It just seemed so unrealistic of everything that happened and the loose ends were tied up too neatly it just seemed too unrealistic, even for Sookie's world. I am happy with who she ends up with but that's about all I can say I'm happy with.
Ugh... I have no more words to say how disappointed I am with this ending. It seems like C. Harris just threw it together and wanted everything put together nice and neat with a bow on top. I guess I just expected more from her.
Hopefully there will be fans out there that like this book/ending but I'm not one of them. I've waited so long to read this book and have been so excited about it and now that I'm done I feel like a deflated balloon.

    What does everyone else think?

When 17-year-old Katy Swartz moved to West Virginia right before her senior year, she'd pretty much resigned herself to thick accents, dodgy Internet access, and a whole lot of boring, but then she spotted her hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up...until he opened his mouth. Daemon Black is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. It's hate at first sight, but when a stranger attacks her and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens. The hot guy next door? Well, he's an alien.

It's too bad that the narrator ruined this book for me. It's a pretty good story but I can't get past her whiny voice. I don't think the banter between them came across as realistic, her voice just sounded forced and fake.

Ok so my friend and I decided to read this book together while waiting for "twice tempted" to come out. I was on the fence about it and had it in my wish list for a while now but since my friend was gonna read it too I thought it would be fun. It was a very good book. No sex in the book and I like that, it was about the 4 letter word LOVE! I'm so glad she chose this book to read. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. And what a cliffhanger!!!!! Off to read the next book in the series now!

In "Undead Sublet" by Molly Harper, executive chef Tess Maitland is banned from her five-star kitchen in Chicago to recover from "exhaustion". Choosing a random rental house in Half-Moon Hollow to spend time in, she's unaware that the house comes with a strange man. Even though Sam Masden's ex-wife has rented the house out from under him, the divorce settlement allows him access to it for another ninety days. With Tess unable to go anywhere else, and Sam unwilling, a war of epic proportions is declared - and romantic sparks and heavy pots fly.

Olivia Kiskey needs a change. She’s been working at the same Nodaway Falls, New York, waffle house since she was a teenager; not a lot of upward mobility there. She’s been in love with Tobias, the cook, for the last four years; he's never made a move. Intent on shaking things up, Olivia puts her house on the market, buys a one-way ticket to Europe, and announces her plans to her friends - but then she meets Davina Granville, a strange and mystical Southern woman....

This read very much like Molly Harper's books. I don't know if it is because Amanda Ronconi was the reader or what. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Lucy March is a pen name for Harper. March has no other books out so it makes one think? Anyway, I liked the book very much, a good light & fun read. And of course Amanda Ronconi did a fabulous job as usual. She is in my top 3 for narrators - her, Tavia Gilbert & Emma Galvin.
If she came out with ant other books, I would definitely buy.
