"Great Story -- PAINFUL Narration!"
This was an enjoyable book for me, would have been perfect if there had been a different narrator - (Keith Nobbs would have been an excellent narrator choice)
I agree with the other reviewers that it is like a dexter junior but it is just different enough to be unique. I will try the next book since there is a different narrator
This book was from the perspective of a 15 yo boy and you have someone with a deep voice reading, or shall I say screaming the story to you. It was most painful at times.
Other than the narration the book was a great story.
I would recommend this book in paperback because the story is so good.
"I CAN & DO recommend this book!"
I didn't mind the music or sound effects. I think it added to the story. The narration was spot on. I can't wait to get to the next book!
Thanks Jules :)
"ALL the loose ends tied up TOO neatly"
***NO SPOILERS***
First, I really thought the entire first half of this book was boring and Harris wanted all the previous characters to make a cameo in the book just because it is the last book. There were really no reasons for most of the people who cameoed to be in the book, they served no real purpose. It made me feel like it was the end of a long loved tv series and everyone comes out to take a bow, even the extras. She could have taken out all those pointless scenes and made the book way more exciting.
I've been a fan of every sookie book written, even the not so good ones. This book lacks everything that is Sookie Stackhouse. I am very disappointed in this book as the ending of our beloved heroine. It just seemed so unrealistic of everything that happened and the loose ends were tied up too neatly it just seemed too unrealistic, even for Sookie's world. I am happy with who she ends up with but that's about all I can say I'm happy with.
Ugh... I have no more words to say how disappointed I am with this ending. It seems like C. Harris just threw it together and wanted everything put together nice and neat with a bow on top. I guess I just expected more from her.
Hopefully there will be fans out there that like this book/ending but I'm not one of them. I've waited so long to read this book and have been so excited about it and now that I'm done I feel like a deflated balloon.
What does everyone else think?
"Needs a new narrator"
It's too bad that the narrator ruined this book for me. It's a pretty good story but I can't get past her whiny voice. I don't think the banter between them came across as realistic, her voice just sounded forced and fake.
"Harper/Ronconi are an automatic download"
I love everything Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi! Put them together and you have magic! Can't wait for the next book!
"Have the tissue handy"
This is a real emotional tear jerker. A lot of personal growth, simply brilliant! I can't wait to listen to this series all over again. Ronconi does a perfect job and brings so many facets to the performance.
"Frost + Tavia = Hot fast action!"
Another cliffhanger to leave us wanting more Vlad and Leila! Fast paced, action filled, steamy and hotter than helll! What an amazing ride. No slow or dull moments at all, just full of everything good and steamy. Now just have to find books to tide me over until book 3!!!!
"What a ride!"
Ok so my friend and I decided to read this book together while waiting for "twice tempted" to come out. I was on the fence about it and had it in my wish list for a while now but since my friend was gonna read it too I thought it would be fun. It was a very good book. No sex in the book and I like that, it was about the 4 letter word LOVE! I'm so glad she chose this book to read. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. And what a cliffhanger!!!!! Off to read the next book in the series now!
"Good but missing Ronconi"
This is a great little short story from Molly Harper, the only thing that could have made it better was if Amanda Ronconi read it. It was still a good listen, the narrator actually did a good job. I do recommend!
"Has a little bit of everything"
Good mystery, suspense, romance. I loved everything about this book and the narrator was great too. Thank you to my friend for gifting this book to me!
"Was it Ronconi! Or..."
This read very much like Molly Harper's books. I don't know if it is because Amanda Ronconi was the reader or what. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Lucy March is a pen name for Harper. March has no other books out so it makes one think? Anyway, I liked the book very much, a good light & fun read. And of course Amanda Ronconi did a fabulous job as usual. She is in my top 3 for narrators - her, Tavia Gilbert & Emma Galvin.
If she came out with ant other books, I would definitely buy.
