There must be a part 3 somewhere. It couldn't possibly end at the end of part 2. What gives, Audible?
Read all the rave reviews so I thought I'd give a listen. Maybe this is a book best enjoyed by women. I listened through for 7 hours but the book never grabbed my interest. I never caught myself waiting to listen to the next part.
I had to quit because I needed a better story for my drives to and from work, and this book was not delivering the story that so many others seemed to enjoy. The best audio book ever? Not even close. I guess there's no accounting for taste.
I purchased this book based on the wonderful reviews written by other listeners. After listening to the first 3 cd's I could not figure out what the fuss was all about. The narration was very good but the story went nowhere, just jumping from one unusual character to another, never grabbing my interest. Keeping my focus on the book was getting difficult. I stopped listening. Maybe the story would get better but it certainly was not what the reviewers made me expect. The emperor is not wearing any clothes.
I realize that an author might prefer to read his own book, but listening to this author was not pleasant. This is a book to be read. A good narrator would have made this book more enjoyable, but as it is, I couldn't wait until I finished it.
