As soon as Kerstin Kvist arrives at remote, ivy-covered Lydstep Old Hall in Essex, she feels like a character in a gothic novel. A young nurse fresh out of school, Kerstin has been hired for a position with the Cosway family, residents of the Hall for generations. She is soon introduced to her "charge", John Cosway, a 39-year-old man whose strange behavior is vaguely explained by his mother and sisters as part of the madness that runs in the family.

Susan B. says: "Top notch Barbara Vine"
"Conflicted Intriguing Drawn Out Cozy Read"
    Overall

Not really sure how to describe a mystery that is truly drawn out and yet intriguing... The slow suspense and red herrings were not enough to say this was an enjoyable listen. I would recommend worthy of special sale but NOT a credit. It requires patience but draws you in.

Ever since the death of his shellan, Tohrment has been unrecognizable from the vampire leader he once was. Physically emaciated and heartbroken beyond despair, he has been brought back to the Brotherhood by a self-serving fallen angel. Now, fighting once again with ruthless vengeance, he is unprepared to face a new kind of tragedy. When Tohr begins to see his beloved in his dreams - trapped in a cold, isolated netherworld far from the peace and tranquility of the Fade - he turns to the angel in hopes of saving the one he has lost.

Would you try another book from J. R. Ward and/or Jim Frangione?

    Yes.

What do you think your next listen will be?

The next book in the BDB series

Would you listen to another book narrated by Jim Frangione?

    Yes.

Do you think Lover Reborn needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Exponentially yes. I really feel like I may deserve my money back since the ending was rushed and sloppy. There were so many story lines left undone and the Lovers Reborn was built up and then over with no great fan fare.

Meet Jonathan Quinn: a freelance operative with a take-no-prisoners style and the heart of a loner. His job? Professional "cleaner". Nothing too violent, just disposing of bodies. But his latest assignment will change everything. The job seemed simple enough: investigating a suspicious case of arson. But when a dead body turns up, and Quinn's handlers at "the Office" turn strangely silent, he knows he's in over his head. With only a handful of clues, Quinn struggles to find out why someone wants him dead.

    "Slow Drip of Listening Torture!"
    Overall

Don't waste a credit or your money. This story has absolutely no intrigue and drones on and on about scenery details that add nothing to the mystery or action. I even tried skipping several chapters with no help. Couldn't listen until the end.
