"Informative"
I purchased this book after reading Michelle Moran's "Cleopatra's Daughter", "Nefertiti" and "The Heretic Queen". I really enjoyed the time period and thought Cleopatra would be interesting as well.
While the book was good, it was very detailed, using other historians' theories about her life. The author made good points, supported by research and facts, but it was hard to follow in an audio format.
"Entertaining Enough"
Sweet, southern, and only slightly distracting. I'm not a big fan of female narrators impersonating male voices.
After coming off a pretty serious, long book, Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs was an enjoyable change of pace. This is the third vampire serious I've read, and I enjoyed the different perspective having the heroine being the vampire.
That said, the plot left a little to be desired. Most of the focus of the book was on Jane's development and life as a vampire. For more action oriented vampire stories, I would lean towards the Sookie Stackhouse series.
"Good story - hard to listen to"
I really enjoyed the book, but listening to it read in a child's voice was a little grating. I would recommend reading this one.
