  • The First Deadly Sin

    • UNABRIDGED (24 hrs and 11 mins)
    • By Lawrence Sanders
    • Narrated By Marc Vietor
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

One of the most popular suspense novels of all time. A well-dressed man stalks the high-class neighborhoods of New York City. He is armed with an ice axe. His victims are strangers. And one cop, Captain Ed Delaney must solve a series of bizarre, gruesome murders that defy logic or method. This shocking story has captured the imaginations of millions like no other modern thriller.

    "Great Writer and Great Narrator"

I love this book and plan on purchasing the rest of the series. The writer and narrator are both excellent - a really great match. I am sorry that I didn't discover Lawrence Sanders sooner. But even if a book is wonderful, it is difficult to stay focused and listen unless the narrator is effective. There have been many times in the past that I stopped listening to a book because the narrator's delivery was distracting. However, Marc Vietor is SERIOUSLY good. I will start watching for his name as narrator, as who the narrator is has a big impact on the audio books that I purchase. The first thing that I used to do is sort by new books that were narrated by Scott Brick. Now I will add Marc Vietor to that short list and search for books that he narrated as well. If any of you authors are reading this, you should take a listen and see how talented this new (to me) narrator is.

  • Unspeakable

    • UNABRIDGED (14 hrs and 6 mins)
    • By Kevin O'Brien
    • Narrated By Todd Haberkorn
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

A family of four murdered in their hotel room. A single mother and her boyfriend both stabbed to death. A sordid history of violent crimes, repeated over and over - but decades apart. Olivia Barker is a therapist with no connection to the murders. But she has heard things. Stories that keep her up at night. Details that only a killer would know. A killer who could be one of her patients…Olivia has no proof for her suspicions. But as the body count rises, so do her fears. A rock is thrown through her window, her car tires are slashed, a chilling message is scrawled on her bathroom mirror.

"I loved this book and narrator!"

I really enjoyed this book. It had me hooked from the first sentence and was very suspenseful. Todd Haberkorn was perfect as the narrator. I will definitely look for future books written by Kevin O'Brien and for books narrated by Todd Haberkorn.

  • Think of a Number: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 30 mins)
    • By John Verdon
    • Narrated By George Newbern
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Arriving in the mail over a period of weeks are taunting letters that end with a simple declaration: “Think of any number…picture it…now see how well I know your secrets.” Amazingly, those who comply find that the letter writer has predicted their random choice exactly. For Dave Gurney, just retired as the NYPD’s top homicide investigator and forging a new life with his wife, Madeleine, in upstate New York, the letters are oddities that begin as a diverting puzzle but quickly ignite a massive serial murder investigation.

"Needs a reader with more energy"

I stopped after listening to a little more than 2 hours of this book. It did not hold my interest as the reader did not put inflection in his voice or feeling in his characters. I listen to the samples each time I buy a book but it seems that whoever selects the samples finds a good part and uses that. I would like a sample that starts with the first page of the book. If the reader and/or book does not grab me after a few pages I will continue to look. If you buy something at a store and it isn't what you think it is, you can return it. This book isn't what I thought it was. How do you get your credit back? And does anyone from customer service actually read the comments?

  • Deception: An Alex Delaware Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 26 mins)
    • By Jonathan Kellerman
    • Narrated By John Rubinstein
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Her name is Elise Freeman, and her chilling cry for help to whoever may be listening comes too late to save her. On a DVD found near her lifeless body, the emotionally and physically battered woman chronicles a year-and-a-half-long ordeal of monstrous abuse at the hands of three sadistic tormentors. But even more shocking than the lurid details is the revelation that the offenders, like their victim, are teachers at one of L.A.s most prestigious prep schools.

    "Narrator Was Distracting"

I found that I could not concentrate on the book as the narrator's style was very distracting. His character's voices are all so affected and dramatic that it sounded like a amateur play rather than people having a conversation. I stopped listening after about 2 hours into it which isn't something I normally do.
