    Yes! It's such a great story!


    Who was your favorite character and why?

    Momma Mae. Her inspired wisdom tendered with compassion warmth and strength is so embraceable. But...all the characters are unique. Good or bad, they're there with each facet clearly reflecting their well developed characters.


    Have you listened to any of Orlagh Cassidy and Bahni Turpin ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No.


    If you could take any character from The Kitchen House out to dinner, who would it be and why?

    Rankin...so I could poison him.

    Loved every minute of this book. Everyone should read this book. What's not to love! If I could give it 10 stars I would.

    I would, but not based on this book. Because I have read other Bragg books, and loved them, I was excited to listen to this one. While I did enjoy it, I found too much negativity coming through. Found my "so what" meter slamming into the red a few times. Not Bragg's best work.


    What was most disappointing about Rick Bragg’s story?

    The interjections about his step son. I think that I'd like to hear his version.


    Was The Prince of Frogtown worth the listening time?

    Yes, but only after his other books.

    Would you listen to All Over But the Shoutin' again? Why?

    Absolutely! Perfectly written and read by the author in his embraceable southern accent. I read this book a few years ago and as it is a favorite I was so happy to find it on audible. Rick Bragg reading it lent another delightful element to the beautiful story.

    Any top drawer southern writer.

    Rick Bragg brings a warmth and sincerity through his reading.

    No. I can't think of a friend who I believe would enjoy it.


    What could Kevin Wilson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

    It is probably perfect for someone who wants to read about intentional dysfunction, chaos without payoff, and a random acts of unkindness. Randomness can be charming, but in this case I found it unembracable.


    Which character – as performed by Therese Plummer – was your favorite?

    The whacked out psycho mom. Her pathetic character is so well defined.


    If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    No.

    I'd pass. Life is too short for so-so books.

    Absolutely...and I have, because it's awesome!


    What was one of the most memorable moments of 11-22-63?

    What does Craig Wasson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    Obviously, the Russian accents. All the accents were amazing except for one. Sadie's. I just couldn't get past her voice sounding like a transvestite with a pervy twist. Other than that, it was perfect. I loved Mr. Wasson's clear and oh so listenable warm voice. Sounded a bit like Owen Wilson whose voice I love!


    If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    The past doesn't like to change.

    Until 11-22-63, I had never read Steven King except for On Writing, which is fantastic non fiction book about writing.
    I hadn't read King because I don't read creepy books. What I found in 11-22-63 is that King is one of the best writers I've ever read. Who knew! Okay, millions knew, but I wouldn't have known had I not read this one. I love this book! Top ten, maybe top five...and that includes Mitchener's Hawaii, Margaret Geroge's Mary Queen of Scotts, and the Bible.
