It's June 1941, and the low point of the war. England throws wave after wave of RAF bombers across the Channel, but somehow the Luftwaffe is able to shoot them down at will. The skies, indeed, the war itself seem to belong to Hitler.

Listened to this driving to and from visting relatives out of state over the Easter weekend. Kept my attention the entire time, just as one would expect from Ken Follet. Good story, good narration. I recommend it!!

Ken Follett's World Without End was a global phenomenon, a work of grand historical sweep beloved by millions of readers and acclaimed by critics. Fall of Giants is his magnificent new historical epic. The first novel in The Century Trilogy, it follows the fates of five interrelated families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they move through the world-shaking dramas of the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for women's suffrage.

Louis says: "Loved it and learned alot."
    "A very good read (Listen)"
    Overall

As with most of Follet's books, this one is very good. I have yet to read or listen to subpar book by this author. I highly recommend this selection. I've been a member of Audible for several years...can't go wrong with Follet.

Mitch Rapp and his protege, Mike Nash, may have met their match. The CIA has detected and intercepted two terrorist cells, but a third is feared to be on the loose. Led by a dangerous mastermind obsessed with becoming the leader of al-Qaeda, this determined and terrifying group is about to descend on America.

F says: "Kickass Thriller - With Politics!"
    "Liberals...stay away"
    Overall

I love the Mitch Rapp character and the narrater George Guidall is great. This is my third listen in a row to Mitch Rapp stories and they are all excellent. The tough-guy, get it done no matter what and the heck with the politicians theme is refreashing. For those that enjoy this type of novel, also take a look at Daniel Silva novels with the Gabriel Allon character...they too are great.

"If Robert Littell didn't invent the American spy novel," says Tom Clancy, "he should have." In this spectacular Cold-War-as-Alice-in-Wonderland epic, Littell, "the American le Carre," takes us down the rabbit hole and into the labyrinthine world of espionage that has been the CIA for the last half-century. "Ostensibly a single novel, The Company can also be listened to as an anthology of cracking good spy stories," says (Publishers Weekly).

    Overall

This book (all 40+ hours) kept me interested thoughout. Great story, good narrator. I've listened to dozens of audible books in the past 3 years...this is by far the best.

The U.S. Speaker of the House is assassinated in a terrifyingly precise execution in the heart of Washington, D.C. In a quieter corner of the nation's capital, the rare book room of the Library of Congress, a reclusive, wealthy scholar drops dead under mysterious circumstances that leave no clues. Following on the heels of the natural death of the Speaker of the House, the city and the nation begin to tremble.

    Overall

Like all of David's audible books (I've listened to all available at Audible) this was very entertaining. Started a bit slow (seems to be his way) but had an exciting ending...you just have to get through the slow start.
