"Carnal Pleasure"
This one took about four chapters to set the 'hook' in me! But, once there, can't put it down or turn it off. Great mystery, again! She has a style all her own!
In this first part....the murder in the swamp!
Tucker and Caroline enjoying the sunset on the back porch of his home.
Tucker, Caroline and Useless...my favorites!!!
"Slow Ride"
The story needed to set the hook faster...creating intrigue, wonder and the I can't quit listening button!
Not necessarily....just needs to have a story woven within that causes the mind to wonder instead of wander!
Probably
I didn't really read that far into the book to describe 'what I would do'...just found it uninteresting and slow.
I grew up riding all of my life til age 25....for me, having the experience of working with, riding for pleasure and training for show....this novel wasn't there. Perhaps for someone with little or no experience in the horse world, maybe a good read. Not for me though.
"Slow and Disappointing"
Perhaps a different narrator. I felt as though a senior citizen was sharing the past pieces of depression....
Not at this time
"Not My Type"
Not sure. The story flips back and forth so often and keeps your mind in constant 'trailing' mode. Too deep, too sticky and the different narrators .... I found confusing.
Possibly. I want my read to flow and I don't want to be challenged to keep score on times, dates, years, places and people....I want it to feed me in a nice, continuous type thread.
Not sure...but one exemplary person would have been terrific.
????
Made it 3/4 way through and was worn out...didn't really care how it ended...not enough good, constant plot to keep me wanting more...
"Once Hooked, Could Not Cease Listening"
I would recommend it; however, I would have preferred one of the excellent male narrators to have shared the unwinding, twisting mystery through the trail of the Montana Sky. Nevertheless, the story is gripping, enchanting and worth every second of the many hours of listening!
The Witness and Carnal Innocence. Mystery, murder, love, deceit....all worked out by the end of the story. This is another great read from Nora Roberts!
Okay, challenging and female.
Many moments...hard to pick one single event. But, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey...loved the characters....loved the conclusion in their lives....and, wish I could sit atop a horse and ride through those pastures under the blue sky!!!!
"My first audio book!"
I did not read the print...but, the listen was wonderful. Perhaps the narrator could have been somewhat better...but, overall, loved every second of it.
It took me a few minutes to get 'hooked'...moved a little slow for me; however, the scene with her friend at the big house...her escape to refuge and the tempo of the story finally pulled me in.
The final 'big scene' with guns, bullets and death!
Her ability to allow herself to become trusting, empathetic and involved in life with people.
FANTASTIC NORA ROBERTS!!! Write another one!
