"The Race is Won"
I have a top ten list and its now in that category.
It combined real life with all facets of reading like comedy , drama and family along with the love of dogs.
This was my first listen and hope for many more. Very pleasant voice and easy to follow.
The ending was fantastic and even if you knew knew the eventual final curtain , you still need Kleenux for help.
"No conflict here"
Fantastic drama unveiled
The twists and turns that were unexpected until the end.
Usually , I listen to help me fall asleep , but LeDoux stfiled that idea. Great stuff .
Drama at its best disguise.
I wish there were a different ending , but after thought , it was appropriate.
"Vance , Salander and Larsson : A Triple Threat"
What a wonderful trilogy ! Best books I ever read or listented to . Each book was I can't wait until the next one. I loved the characters and set up of the plot(s), but it was the combo of Bloomquist abd Salander that has me mesmerized.
I had the pleasure of meeting Lisbeth first hand in the movie of the same name. She was all that I expected and more . I will miss her trance she kept on me every day , which is a sign of a good book and author . Too bad its over .
"Play with fire and you won't get "burnt""
After listening to over 100 books , this is the best ever. Character development was top notch . The story moved with great expectations and comes thundering down with its conclusion . I didn't want the book to end , but yet at the same time I wanted it to finish because Lizbeth won me over with all her antics.
The reader was great and kept my attention. Being intertwined with information of other countries opened up my horizons .I highly recommend this selection and know I want to read the first one(Tattoo) and wish for another book . It's like waiting for Christmas as a kid aND WONDERING WHAT WILL BE NEXT .
"Not a Bogie but a Birdie !"
You don't have to be a golfnut to enjoy the book.It is filled with humor, lessons of life and an easy listen.
It is the type of book that you can't stop reading/listening with the hope something good will happen to the main character, the author. Bringing in his friends makes it a real experience that can be identified with each swing of his many , assorted golf clubs.
This book is a can't miss from beginning to end. This is my first book by this author and I can't wait to listen to the others.
"Better ending"
The only way we can review a book is through the samples or reader reviews. From now on I won't read the reviews since many readers either tell the plot or ending. What is the use of reading/listening to the book if the story was given away ? In this case ,Patterson can do no wrong(if your a fan) and let me figure it out for myself. This whole series is a "knockout" ,but I won't let you know if I hit the canvas or was left standing .Find out for yourself and listen to the samples ,too.
"Hoag at her best"
This was a page turner from beginning to end.I couldn't wait until the next chapter and when it ended ,I wanted more. The ending was listened in my car and when the tale twisted once again, I held up traffic because I couldn't believe what transpired. The characters fell into place with each twist and turn. I love a book that holds your suspense and just when (you) think you have it solved , the bottom drops out and you are left with one thought: give me another Tammi Hoag book.
The narrator was excellent and kept the listener glued to every word . Sam and Nikki are great together but with such a supporting cast to fall back on , it can be realized that this is a WINNER !
"a very perfect evil"
I absolutely love this type of book. Just when you thought that the "who dunnit" was an easy match , you are driven to examine the details . The reader was excellent and made the drama continue without putting the listener to sleep. The storyline is top notch , the characters believable and I couldn't wait until the next chapter.
The book was so good and the ending so surprising that I had to return to the epilogue to claim its veracity . And what an ending , its not like most reads where you have everything figured out early . then the finish makes you say,"please continue this ,don't stop there."
"no jack splat"
With two different readers , I thought it would would slow the progress of the book and I found it more interesting than loss of momentum.
I loved the build up of the cast of characters along with attention to detail. Flick was a wonderful addition to the exciting display of courage and female strength. In fact , all the characters were believable and I felt a part of the book as an added commando. Even though there were some gory descriptions , it can be conceived that those torture chambers really existed and became a viable part of the Gestapo interrogation. I was sorry to see it end but look forward to another of Ken Follett's books, which now numbers three( Hornet Flight and Whiteout). Please keep them coming.
"white xmas present"
This is the type of book that you just can't put down. I got this over the xmas break from work.I found that I didn't want to stop listening because the character buildup along with plot were so interesting , I felt I was part of the story. As in sports , this book had momentum and never looked book. I enjoyed the narrator and the Scotish dialect kept me on a pace that was non stop. I highly recommnend this book .This is my third book from Ken Folett and can't wait as his chain of great books never seem to end.
