The incomparable master of the legal thriller takes us deeper into the labyrinth that is the American justice system, always drawing us in with an irresistible hook, pulling the thread of tension tighter and tighter, and then knocking us out with a conclusion that's never "by the book". Maybe that's why, after more than 20 years of consecutive number-one New York Times best sellers, a new novel by America's favorite storyteller is still a major publishing event.

What would have made The Litigators better?

SOME kind of drama in the story would have helped - there was absolutely none.

Would you ever listen to anything by John Grisham again?

Not if they're anything like this one.

What three words best describe Dennis Boutsikaris’s performance?

Probably a great narrator for a different kind of book, but I think he may have contributed to a lack of gravity in this book. I sure do miss Frank Muller!

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Litigators?

Nothing stood out as particularly bad, there just wasn't anything that was particularly good.

    Any additional comments?

I recall really enjoying Grisham's previous works immensely. They always managed to get me emotionally involved - emotionally wrapped up in what happened to a particular character.Part of the way through this story, I realized something was really missing. There was just no emotional involvement. I could've put the book away at any point and never really wondered what the outcome would be. Sure, it's a vaguely interesting legal story as some reviewers have mentioned, but certainly no more so than a mediocre TV episode of something like Law & Order.
