Few books have captivated the imagination and won the devotion and praise of readers and critics everywhere as has George R. R. Martin’s monumental epic cycle of high fantasy that began with A Game of Thrones. Now, in A Feast for Crows, Martin delivers the long-awaited fourth book of his landmark series, as a kingdom torn asunder finds itself at last on the brink of peace . . . only to be launched on an even more terrifying course of destruction.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Would not recommend to listeners of previous books. Roy has changed voices for characters to the point where it is completely distracting. Arya stark has a gravely old-woman voice. The other female characters are different as well. I'm a big fan of Roy-- the other books are awesome. I'm going to read the rest of this one the ole-fashioned way...

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

What did you like best about this story?

I really enjoyed the 1st person aspect of this story...being inside the head of a "wizard/musician" as he goes through his training, trials and tribulations is fascinating. The tie-in with science is well done. Just enough humor without being over-the-top...

    Any additional comments?

In the first hour or so of the book I did not care for the narrator- his voice did not seem to fit the main character. I almost scrapped the audiobook for the print version. However, over the next 40 hours he really won me over and now I'm not sure what I was thinking-5 stars Mr. Podehl! Sorry I doubted you!

  • 11-22-63: A Novel

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

I am a long time King fan but actually haven't read him in a while. I also enjoy Sci- fi and fantasy. (I'm new to audio books and my previous ones were Lord of the Rings and the first three Game of Thrones books). 11-22-63 was fantastic! Characters were great, the science was intriguing, and the historical fiction was very cool... As usual I find my self thinking- this would be an awesome movie...or better yet, an HBO series. My wife is glad that I'm finished with this book as I have been walking around with headphones like a zombie. Game of Thrones is still king for me (wow, all kinds o puns here) but I'm glad to be "reading" Steven King again...in fact I'm about to do a little shopping on his aisle. Really digging audible- thanks guys!
