In this fifth book in the Magykal series, Septimus ends up on a captivatingly beautiful island, one of seven set in a sparkling sea. He's stranded there with his badly injured dragon, Spit Fyre, along with Jenna and Beetle. There are some strange things about the island, including a Magykal girl named Syrah, a cat-shaped lighthouse that has lost its Light, and an eerie presence that sings to Septimus - can he escape the persistent call?

I actually like Septimus Heap more than Harry Potter, so do my kids! We have thoroughly enjoyed listening to these books!

    "Heartwarming Classic"
    Overall

Definitely one to own for a lifetime and to pass down through the generations. A heartwarming book that teaches boys what "real men" are. Virtuous, lovely, adventurous and an amazing example of a true classic. We also purchased the hard copy!

Marlette Brightwood had come inexperienced and unafraid from a sheltered life in Philadelphia to the unmapped, untamed Oregon Territory in 1842. Her guide was Ross Chesnut, a legend on the frontier.

I was disappointed at the sexual innuendos in this book and stopped listening when it became obvious that there was going to be a graphic sexual situation. I am not interested in this kind of literature, and therefore, will not purchase another book from this author.
