  • The Hobbit (Dramatised)

The radio dramatisation of The Hobbit became a classic when it was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 1968 and it continues to delight today. Tolkien's famous saga, the prelude to the Lord of the Rings, has all the ingredients of fantasy and adventure: dwarves, elves, goblins and trolls, a fearsome dragon, a great wizard, a perilous quest, and a dramatic climax.

Mary says: "Takes a little getting used to"
"Not what I was looking for......"

Dramatized versions are difficult at best. This version of The Hobbit illustrates that point. It was very noisy and cumbersome to listen to. I had to get the CD version of the audio book in order to share the tale with my 9 year old son. Rob Ingles' unabridged version is excellent and my son enjoyed it as well.

Tackling the hottest topics of the times from Feminazis to Environmentalist Wackos, Rush Limbaugh is at his satirical best - the provocative conservative and the showman who is "documented to be almost always right 97.9% of the time" about The Way Things Ought To Be.

Dennis E. Maciejewski says: "The second best political book I've ever read."
    "RUSH IS RIGHT, OF COURSE!"
    Overall

This is a well written and well performed audio book that is as insightfull now as it was when it first came out. Rush Limbaugh proved his mastery of both entertainment and observation.
