Four seekers have come to the ugly, abandoned old mansion: Dr. Montague, an occult scholar looking for solid evidence of the psychic phenomenon called haunting; Theodora, his lovely and lighthearted assistant; Eleanor, a lonely, homeless girl well acquainted with poltergeists; and Luke, the adventurous future heir of Hill House.

I was looking for a good, spooky story for Halloween time and this book just dragged on and on to the point I gave up. It was very slow and the narration was annoying. This book goes in the "return" bin.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

I was kept entertained and curious through this book so I enjoyed listening. It got a little bizarre near the end so I can't really say its a fantastic book but if you like a mystery with a bit of sci-fi this is a pretty good listen. The narrator was very good!

I really loved two other books by this author but I couldn't seem to get into this one. I'm going to check her other books because she is a great author but I don't think I'll listen to the narrator again. She didn't change her voice at all so it was hard to follow which character was talking or thinking.
