The story premise and historical alignment are interesting. I found the story well done, I am not sure if I made it to the end of the explanation on the historical placement.
Caleb Carr won my admiration with the Alienist, and then lost me on his other works. This book brings me back awaiting his next book.
The narration was good and added to the listening experience.
The story and style is right along with other novels such as Brad Thor. The story is good and the mystery does play along well. Narration with Mr. Brick is awesome as expected. I enjoyed the story and would recommend this if you like the action, mystery type books.
The story had potential, but just slowly moves along. Narration was ok, but not the best I have heard this narrator perform in other books. On discount, or you have a credit to spare go for it.
I agree Reacher is back, but for me he never left as I did not read the last novel due to the reviews.
The action is heavy, and Reacher acts like Reacher. Dick Hill just does a good job. I am a big Dick Hill fan.
I fully understand where Preston and Child are taking the story and it fits. But for me I am more interested in Pendergast's son. I must wait. I did notice the push pull going on with how Pendergast is dealing with his loss. Maybe I am not a fan of Pendergast in a small Colorado town.
Recommend it, but just didn't go in the direction I hoped.
Rene Auberjonois does a great job.
Having a minor in history and heavily in WW2 I have read quite a few books and articles on the SS. This book brought out some perspectives that I had not heard yet. I will check out some of the other books out there that folks are recommending.
Joe Barrett does a great job with the narration.
I picked this up as I have some other books along this line that I am reading. This book is a must read if you have ever had any interest in knowing how the system developed, decisions, successes, failures and current risks.
Scott Brick does an amazing job for this book and its style.
The story was good, but one ding. In the middle of the book the examples while important just seemed to over emphasize. There is reason, but just one thought after finishing this one in a couple of days. The facts are interwoven through the story. **Spoiler** Sorta
Ross Perot makes an appearance.. I never knew that about Ross Perot.
I enjoyed the way the author brought computer hacking, societal misfits and a mystery together in this book. There are elements of "Ready Player One" feel to the book with references to the culture of the 90's.
I bought this one on sale, and I would say it was a good purchase. I am recommending this for those of you that enjoyed "Ready Player One.
The performance was good and the variation in voices made it easy to follow the characters.
Golem does a good job of taking the old haunted house story and giving it a different spin. The story brings out quite a bit of history on how the ghosts took hold of the house, interweaving the family story.
I appreciated the techie perspective and how the group of individuals brought together to solve the mystery were developed.
Kafer's performance was good and helped bring the listener through some of the slower parts of the book. I have to agree Mr. Kafer should not try to sing again.
I would recommend this book if you like haunted house stories with a different twist.
In my first reviews and after some time I did not think that I enjoyed the series as much until I listened to this installment. The story wove itself together and Pete Bradbury does a great job. I am putting this series on a re-listen.
Riyeria Chronicles is great addition to the story, or fill in. Tim Reynolds does a great job on the narration.
The author does a nice intro explaining his thoughts and direction to the series. As the author explains you can start with this book if you have not read the previous books in the series.
The book itself is well done and shows that Michael Sullivan still has the juice.
I just wish Audible would complete the Riyeria Revelations series.
