In October 1962, at the height of the Cold War, the United States and the Soviet Union appeared to be sliding inexorably toward a nuclear conflict over the placement of missiles in Cuba. Veteran Washington Post reporter Michael Dobbs has pored over previously untapped American, Soviet, and Cuban sources to produce the most authoritative book yet on the Cuban missile crisis.

Where does One Minute to Midnight rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It ranks high on my list.

Who was your favorite character and why?

No characters. These are all historical figures. Real people documented in history.

Have you listened to any of Bob Walter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    The title.

    Any additional comments?

Very good for history buffs. The world does not comprehend how close we came to a nuclear war in the 1960's.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Who might enjoy this book? Someone who likes lame plots about politicos. I admit that most thrillers are unrealistic, but this one is just so lame.

Would you ever listen to anything by David Baldacci again?

I doubt it. This was my first Baldacci book. I see no reason to waste any more money to see if his skill set changes.

What didn’t you like about Ron McLarty’s performance?

The back ground music and sound effects really distract from the performance.

    Any additional comments?

The best part was the subplot about the Police Chief as a murder suspect.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes tales are rightly ranked among the seminal works of mystery and detective fiction. Included in this collection are all four full-length Holmes novels and more than forty short masterpieces - from the inaugural adventure A Study in Scarlet to timeless favorites like “The Speckled Band” and more. At the center of each stands the iconic figure of Holmes - brilliant, eccentric, and capable of amazing feats of deductive reasoning.

Where does The Complete Sherlock Holmes rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Sherlock Holmes ranks very near the top. I seldom listen to audio books for entertainment. Most of my books are learning materials -- non-fiction. I decided to get SR out of curiosity. It is nearly 60 hours in length!!

What did you like best about this story?

I can only imagine Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's intelligence. His material is applicable today 100 years later.

    Which scene was your favorite?

WIth so many good stories, I cannot pick a favorite. Some are better than others.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

This book is a compliation of many short stories. So, there isn't a particular moment.

    Any additional comments?

This book is excellent for an extended trip, or to break up a monotonous drive of flight. Make no mistake -- it is LONG. You get your money's worth.

Would you try another book from Marsha Norman and/or Michelle J. Gonzalez (AKA Renee Nasser)?

Maybe, maybe not. I would have to look at other reviews and a description of the content.

What does Michelle J. Gonzalez (AKA Renee Nasser) bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Had I looked at a written version of this text, I could have thumbed through the pages before spending my money. This is a very "touchy feely" content.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment. I expected a little higher level material. Maybe the authors, thought by dumbing down the content, people would digest it better. Or, perhaps the target audience was someone that had NO management skill. If you have had any management training, then move to another text. The ideas and principles here are good. The delivery is very basic.

Social media is but one of five converging forces that promise to change virtually every aspect of our lives. You know these other forces already: mobile, data, sensors and location-based technology. Combined with social media they form a new generation of personalized technology that knows us better than our closest friends. Armed with that knowledge our personal devices can anticipate what we'll need next and serve us better than a butler or an executive assistant. The resulting convergent superforce is so powerful that it is ushering in an era the authors call the Age of Context.

If you could sum up Age of Context in three words, what would they be?

    Technology,Evolution, Future Predictions

What was one of the most memorable moments of Age of Context?

Big Brother is here and how we embrace him.

What does Jeffrey Kafer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I get a lot of car time. Audio books allow me to learn while in motion. It takes a good narrator to keep things moving. Otherwise I may not have bought this book to read.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.

    Any additional comments?

It is a great book. But, it will have a short shelf life. I a couple of years the references will be outdated. Read it -- Or, hear it -- Now! The short shelf life is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

During his two terms as the 40th President of the United States, Ronald Reagan kept a daily diary in which he recorded, by hand, his innermost thoughts and observations on the extraordinary, the historic, and the routine day-to-day occurrences of his presidency. Now, nearly two decades after he left office, this remarkable record, the only daily Presidential diary in American history, is available for the first time.

What did you like best about The Reagan Diaries? What did you like least?

It is a nice collection of daily accounts from Ronald Reagan. Somehow I expected to hear his voice. Not so.

Just a window to his thoughts or happenings while he was in office. Nothing exciting here.

What three words best describe Eric Conger’s performance?

    No performance. Just reading.

Could you see The Reagan Diaries being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    NO.

Still struggling through the financial crisis that began in 2008, consumers aren't buying traditional sales approaches anymore. So how do salespeople, corporate communicators, managers, and marketers sell their ideas, products, and services to a generation of customers who are more skeptical and less influenced by conventional marketing than ever before?

I guess I have to wait for a coming chapter...
