In No Apology, Mitt Romney asserts that American strength is essential—not just for our own well-being, but for the world’s. Governments such as China and a newly-robust Russia threaten to overtake us on many fronts, and Islam continues its dangerous rise. Drawing on history for lessons on how great powers collapse, Romney shows how and why our national advantages have eroded.

What made the experience of listening to No Apology the most enjoyable?

It was a well-laid out plan for Romney's Presidency. I learned much about this man's view on foreign-policy and economics. Something the mainstream news media will not report on.

Have you listened to any of Mitt Romney’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No

If you could give No Apology a new subtitle, what would it be?

    Vision for America!

    Any additional comments?

I wanted to educate myself on the 2 Presidential candidates. This was a great book to learn about Romney's views and character as it relates to politics. Instead of writing about himself, like Obama's books do, Romney provides solutions for America.

It is 1943 - the height of the Second World War. With the men taken by the army, Berlin has become a city of women. And while her husband fights on the Eastern Front, Sigrid Schröder is, for all intents and purposes, the model soldier's wife: She goes to work every day, does as much with her rations as she can, and dutifully cares for her meddling mother-in-law, all the while ignoring the horrific immoralities of the regime. But behind this façade is an entirely different Sigrid, a woman who dreams of her former Jewish lover.

Winter of the World picks up right where the first book left off, as its five interrelated families - American, German, Russian, English, Welsh - enter a time of enormous social, political, and economic turmoil, beginning with the rise of the Third Reich, through the Spanish Civil War and the great dramas of World War II, up to the explosions of the American and Soviet atomic bombs. As always with Ken Follett, the historical background is brilliantly researched and rendered, the action fast-moving, the characters rich in nuance and emotion.

And, for the moment, it’s also a port in the storm for Odd Thomas and his traveling companion, the inscrutably charming Annamaria. In the wake of Odd’s most recent clash with lethal adversaries, the opulent manor’s comforts should be welcome. But there’s far more to Roseland than meets even the extraordinary eye of Odd, who soon suspects it may be more hell than haven.

To make the journey into The Power of Now you need to leave your analytical mind and its false created self, the ego, behind. Access to the Now is everywhere - in the body, the silence, and the space all around you. These are the keys to enter a state of inner peace.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It reaffirmed my belief to stay in the present but did not explain spirituality well. The author talked in circles. The format was to answer structured questions but the answers never seemed to come! This book could have been shortened dramatically and gotten the same point across.

What could Eckhart Tolle have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Shortened it and not talk in circles.

Do you think The Power of Now needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    NO

    Any additional comments?

The ideas are helpful as self-help but not spiritual enlightenment.

Ken Follett's World Without End was a global phenomenon, a work of grand historical sweep beloved by millions of readers and acclaimed by critics. Fall of Giants is his magnificent new historical epic. The first novel in The Century Trilogy, it follows the fates of five interrelated families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they move through the world-shaking dramas of the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for women's suffrage.

Would you consider the audio edition of Fall of Giants to be better than the print version?

Yes. The audio version is like listening to a storyteller. It is easier to keep track of the characters listening rather than reading.

Which character – as performed by John Lee – was your favorite?

Walter Erlich. John Lee had the accent and tone of the character down pat!

Who was the most memorable character of Fall of Giants and why?

Ethel Williams. She came from a loving family who was economically lower-class. She had the highs and lows of life. But had great moral character to make the correct decisions and had strength to become a leader, but the compassion to care for people!

    Any additional comments?

Listeners will be enchanted by "The Fall of Giants." This is a great series. It is historical fiction during WWI. The author was true to history and wove a wonderful set of fictional characters, representative of real lives at the time. The characters represented extended families in 4 major countries, England, Germany, Russia and America. The political decisions of the time and the moral and family decisions were all included. Very fascinating! Ken Follett truly paid attention to all the details of people living in those countries and era. I didn't ant to series to end! Gratefully, I found he wrote a follow-up series to "The Fall of Giants", extending into time (WWII) and with the same characters and their families. This series is "The Winter of the World".
