You can run from the grave, but you can't hide. Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She's still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerous ex, taught her. But when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind.

I came across this author by accident. And she has moved into my top 5 list.

I don't know if its the way the book is read by Tavia Gilbert, but I have fallen in love with Cat and Bones.

I enjoy her spin on vampires and ghouls.

    I highly recommend this series.

Would you listen to 40 Souls to Keep again? Why?

Im sure I will listen again. Going to check out more from this author.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jace. Very mysterious. And of course his mission.

Have you listened to any of Charles Carr’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Dont recall listening to him before but I do enjoy his voice. Some voices, I cant listen to. His was a nice deep voice. He sounds like another reader but I cant remember his name off hand.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Is your soul next on the list?

    Any additional comments?

I read in previous reviews, too much sex. It almost made me not get this book but the story line was too interesting. Im glad I didnt listen.

I have listened to books with far more sex than this. JR Ward has a book about 2 guys who get married. Their sex scenes were a lot more descriptive than in this book.

Dont let that scare you away from this book. The couple of scenes dont last very long and seriously, tame compared to other romance books.

From birth to death, The War is all the citizens of Dystance know. As children it is drilled into their heads that war is the purpose behind all existence. Winter doesn't agree. She's stumbled across remnants of life the way it was before The War began and now she longs to be as free as her ancestors. With help from her best friend, Cedar, and the boy she is forbidden to love, Tallow, she believes she can do it. Winter can see a life beyond the Pickets, beyond the constant hunger and the threat of death, beyond the war machine.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

As always, great story. Gives you someone to root for.

Enjoyed the growing of the main character.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dystance?

It's a spoiler part so I will just say, when wynter realizes she truly loves him. *wont say who....that's also a spoiler.

Which character – as performed by Julia Whelan – was your favorite?

Main character but I also enjoyed the playfulness of Cedar.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! I had to stop for lunch ( I read while I work). Couldn't wait to get back to work.

    Any additional comments?

Not happy where it left off. Mr Tufo, how long will we have to wait to find out what happens?

    Predictable.

What didn’t you like about Chloe Lynn’s performance?

Her accent and the way she spoke.

Centuries ago Acheron saved the human race by imprisoning an ancient evil bent on absolute destruction. Now that evil has been unleashed and it is out for revenge. As the twin to Acheron, Styxx hasn’t always been on his brother's side. They've spent more centuries going at each other's throats than protecting their backs. Now Styxx has a chance to prove his loyalty to his brother, but only if he's willing to trade his life and future for Acheron's.

Where does Styxx rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is high up in all the books I've listened to.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I never liked Styxx after reading Acheron. Got to a point where I stopped liking Acheron as much as I did. Styxx has been through hell and back a few times.

What about Fred Berman’s performance did you like?

    He is good.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I normally listen while I work. I found myself listening at home and in the car.

    Any additional comments?

Great book. Love the way we see the other side of the story. Perception is everything.
One thing that I find is disturbing in any book I read is the sexual abuse of not only children but of anyone. After reading Acheron, I felt sick. With Styxx, I had to fast forward a few times. I just couldnt stomach it anymore. We got the point with Acheron. Reading the books in order, I dont think we needed to hear all that graphic abuse again.

Would you consider the audio edition of DEAD: The Ugly Beginning to be better than the print version?

I havent read the book, just audio, but its an easy listen.

What did you like best about this story?

Different look to the undead. Multiple groups so you dont get bored with the same people.

    Any additional comments?

One thing I do not like about this series is the details given to sexual predators, especially of children. That disturbs and disgusts me.

I didnt think he did as bad a job as some reviews. We are used to James voice. But Johns wasnt that bad.

I am glad to hear James voice though. It's why I even started listening to Harry Dresden in the first place.

This is the story of Michael Talbot, his family, and his friends: a band of ordinary people trying to get by in extraordinary times. When disaster strikes, Mike, a self-proclaimed survivalist, does his best to ensure the safety and security of those he cares for. Book one of the Zombie Fallout Trilogy follows our lead character at his self-deprecating, sarcastic best. What he encounters along the way leads him down a long dark road, always skirting the edge of insanity.

I loved that it wasnt all gore....it made me laugh out loud from the main characters comments.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Zombie Fallout?

The final scene of the book. Wont say more to spoil for the next reader.

    Which scene was your favorite?

By far, the best was when Mike goes to save his eldest son from Walmart. A conversation he has with his wife when he asks his youngest son to help. I couldnt help but laugh.
