Here is a heart warming story of a wonderful relationship of a mother and her son. The relationship is strengthened during the time of the mom's treatments. Not only do we get an inside look at a very personal time but we are led into a world of literature that we can share with others. The message is clear: Share books with loved ones NOW and reap the benefits for a long time to come.

What we learned about Thomas Jefferson when we were younger is cursory at best. Here, in detail, and clearly written is the story of one of our most important Americans. Whatever political party you favor you can support Jefferson because he touched on all aspects of American life in a way that made this country stronger. Meacham makes clear that Jefferson always had the country in mind in all decisions and that puts him above "politicians" of today.
Edward Hermann's narration adds a great deal to a well researched and well written book.

This novel had received so much attention and seemed so interesting that I decided to listen. I thought the beginning of the first story was okay but soon began to sense that there was going to be much more here...and there was. David Mitchell's story and a wonderful group of readers bring you deeper and deeper into stories that are very much related. I don't want to give anything away but you will be delighted with where you are taken.

I realized I had never experienced a book that was not only positively reviewed but created a world-wide controversy. This book didn't generate any excitement for me. Perhaps it's me.
I wonder if everyone loved it.

Michael Chabon has written, but I should say crafted, a novel that includes the areas of family, friendships, r & b music of the 70's, race relations, and the idea of neighborhood. The stories that he weaves through the novel are fascinating and the interactions of the characters will make this book a Pulitzer contender. I have read several novels by Chabon and this is truly special.

This British detective procedural is fair. I enjoy a bit more of a pace in my mysteries.
I just could not get pulled into this novel. Too much talk and little else.

This book was originally published in 1959 but it could be ripped from today's headlines. The book is so current it is incredible. The town in Florida where the book takes place is truly a microcosm for the world we know. A sobering look at what could be and what we hope will never be. Will Patton is an absolutely amazing narrator.

Just when you've settled into a fascinating story things happen that throw you--in a good way. The story lends itself to two narrators and they are first rate. Gillian Flynn is a talented "crafter" of a roller coaster tale that will hold your interest from start to finish. The Audible credit you spent on this book is well spent.

This is my fourth Don Winslow book and he is amazing. He certainly has his finger on the culture of the "underbelly" of Southern California. He supplies us with a rich tapestry of life styles so different from our own. He knows the history of the area and weaves these interesting stories into his books. His sense of humor, including a large dose of sarcasm, always has me laughing out loud. His style has you not wanting to shut off the player.

I find this novel lacking a real edge to the story. I believe it was compared to The Alienist but I beg to differ. This book doesn't provide an edgy Gangs Of New York feel to the writing and this was disappointing. The author uses the slang used by criminals of the day but it lacks the true grit of street life. Where are the vivid descriptions of the crime sites? This is "murder lite"
