I haven't read a Grisham book in a long time and discovered when I listened to this that I really missed him!

The freedom to do my art work and get lost in a fantastic book.

Not all one sitting but every time I was in my art room, it went on.

Yes, I would. I've read other Burke books but this is the first one I've listened to.

I would like it better if he had Dave in more of the book. I like that character better. After visiting New Iberia Parrish, I am absolutely enthralled with the area, the food, the music and the people. Burke really delves into all of that and makes it even more real to me.

I'm not from the area but always loved the accent when we spent time there. I liked Patton's performance a lot and will look to hear more from him in the future.

No not really other than to read more of Burke's books.

The civil war tales ~ very descriptive and it really held my attention.

No, I listened and kept coming back. I did listen to it in just a couple of days, though.

Absolutely! I would recommend the book because it was well written and really held my interest. I was told it was a good book but I am surprised I liked it as much as I did. I found myself angry at times knowing the story was about things that happened in the deep south during my lifetime. Being a Northerner, this isn't the way we heard about life down there and I felt duped when I finished it ~ I felt that this just COULDN'T be the way things really happened. I was shocked to read of the fear the blacks felt and the way they were treated. As I said, this wasn't what we were reading in the newspapers or learning about in our "all white schools".

The way all of the women banded together to accomplish something like they did. We are women hear us roar!

I liked her usual style of writing and suspense and look forward to reading more of her books.

This was my first listening to Susan Ericksen but I enjoyed her narration.

I love the sexual tension between the characters.

I really like Grandma Mazur and can picture the late Estelle Getty playing her. She's sassy and I always like her trips to Stiva's funeral home.

When her cello was introduced. It was so funny...

I've read the Evonovich books through book 10 and really enjoyed them. Having the audio made "reading" the ELEVEN ON TOP book experience more enjoyable. I turn on my Kindle when I work in my art room and the hours just fly by. I used to turn the TV on for "background noise" but I am liking this, my first audio book, much better. I'm sure I will get more of these books in the future. This is much more fun than the TV by a long shot.
