"Good advice, but needs to be updated"
The authors need to update this book. I keep trying to adjust numbers used, like most amount ever spent on a car, as of 1995 and adjust for inflation to 2005. A $30,000 car in 1995 is not a $30,000 car in 2005. But, what is it? Is it $40,000, $35,000, or $50,000?
Other than that, a lot of good, common sence advice that is good to be reminded of. Also, it was fun to try to figure out which of my upper middle class neighbors are on EOC based on their lifestyles.
"Politics of sex, no steamy scenes"
If you are looking for hot sex tips, the most you will get here is some good video titles and toy ideas. Don't listen for steamy sex scenes, because they are not here. This program is remarkably smart and very political. If you are publicly conservative and privately perverse, this show is NOT for you. However, if you enjoy listening to very intelligent discussions on sex, and you are in the center or on the left side of politics, this is a really fun weekly program.
But, be warned, for those of us that are proud liberals, you may find yourself learning things that will make you angry, and hopefully a little more politically active.
"Very much enjoyed this Austen classic"
I was unsure when I saw that the narrator was Flo Gibson. I have listened to other books that she read and had problems hearing them. This one is very well read and well recorded. For the most part, the sound quality is excellent.
As for the book itself, I enjoyed it. It is shorter then some of her earlier books, and once you've read a few things by her you can pretty much guess the end early on. That really doesn't take away from the story. This one had likeable and hateable, interesting characters and a good plot line. The father was a great comic addition to the group.
"Fun, light and entertaining"
I enjoyed this book. Written in 1950s Canada, it gives a fun view of values and lifestyles at that time. Worth a listen.
Since it is only available in formats 1 and 2, the sound isn't great, but it really wasn't as bad as I had feared it would be.
"Very good book"
I really enjoyed this book, and for others that are looking for something similar, pick up "Getting Mother's Body" which is also narritave of the african american experience in the 1960s. It is also about a woman who lost her mother and it is also very good!
"Fun, light, humorous"
Okay, this isn't great literature; it's just a fun and outrageous story. If you?re looking for something to take to the beach, or in my case, take on a run, this is a great book. You hate the bad guys, like the good guys and have fun hoping the detective solves the crime in time. Enjoy!
"Boring, poorly written and poorly read"
I was really hoping for another fun book like the Nanny Diaries, but was very disappointed. It was just not very interesting. I couldn't like any of the characters, including the main charachter, Andrea. The narrator made all the men sound sleazy, even the "nice guy" boyfriend. The writer often repeated lines and comments where it wasn't necessary, so I kept thinking I had somehow skipped backward.
Don't waste your time or money.
"Very enjoyable"
A delightful romantic novel. Very well read.
