A mesmerizing, behind-the-scenes business thriller that chronicles how Sega, a small, scrappy gaming company led by an unlikely visionary and a team of rebels, took on the juggernaut Nintendo and revolutionized the video-game industry. In 1990, Nintendo had a virtual monopoly on the video-game industry. Sega, on the other hand, was just a faltering arcade company with big aspirations and even bigger personalities. But all that would change with the arrival of Tom Kalinske, a former Mattel executive who knew nothing about video games and everything about fighting uphill battles.

Would you listen to Console Wars again? Why?

Yes I would. Even though this is true events it reads like fiction. Very interesting characters that kept me listening late into the night.

What other book might you compare Console Wars to and why?

The Book Super Mario. That had this kind of story told from the Nintendo perspective. Obviously with an emphasis on Mario.

Which character – as performed by Fred Berman – was your favorite?

I liked Nelson. I could see him in my head from the way he performed him.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending is very moving. It involves the measure of a man. That is right up my alley.

    Any additional comments?

This is one of the best non fiction books I have ever listened to.

What made the experience of listening to Yesterday's Gone: Season 2 the most enjoyable?

The narration is so good. This is important to me. I had already loved the ebook. So listening this made it even better.

What other book might you compare Yesterday's Gone: Season 2 to and why?

Great television shows like Lost, and great books like the Stand.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Even though I am not a Boricio (not sure if that spelling is correct) fan. That didn't make his backstory not any less impactful. Very tough and informative.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Luca dealing with his sudden change in age I found really moving. Best thing about that is that it made a character I didn't really care for in Season one much better for this season.

    Any additional comments?

I sure hope they release the other seasons on Audio!

What did you love best about Yesterday's Gone: Season One?

I love how fast the story moves. Each character filling out this fast and fun world the authors have created.

Who was your favorite character and why?

That would go to Charlie. He isn't a good guy but I am still not sure I could call him a bad guy either. His journey is one of the more unpredictable.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Each character has their own distinct style and feel thanks to the masterful narration. I loved reading the Ebook, but I actually think this style and the high production values of this Audiobook, would make this the ideal way to listen to Yesterday's Gone.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Get ready to get caffeinated and call into work. There is no stopping once you start.

This is a phenomenal audiobook. Story is great and fun. The narration is an absolute standout! Buy this audiobook!

If you could sum up The Emperor's Soul in three words, what would they be?

    Short Epic fiction

What other book might you compare The Emperor's Soul to and why?

I don't think I have ever read another book quite like The Emperor's Soul. Though if you are looking for similar I would read anything by Sanderson. He does not disappoint.

Which character – as performed by Angela Lin – was your favorite?

I would have to say Shai. She is the main character. She inhabits the persona.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Basically the whole thing. The format of this book has a very complex thread of what makes a man great. This makes the whole story feel moving.

    Any additional comments?

Don't let the size of this book fool you. This is Epic fantasy at its best.

Where does The Rithmatist rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very high up there with everything that Brandon Sanderson has written.

What other book might you compare The Rithmatist to and why?

Steelheart by Sanderson. That is another YA title that rocks.

Have you listened to any of Michael Kramer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

At this point I have probably listened to fifty of his performances. This is just as outstanding as his others.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

The answer is yes. This is a delightful book. The tone is whimsical but the plot unfolds in a way that kept me listening.

    Any additional comments?

I cannot believe that this book turned out as good as it is. When I read the description I thought Sanderson was finally going to write a book that I didn't enjoy. Boy was I glad to be wrong. I liked this even more than the great Steelheart.

What made the experience of listening to Dead Beat the most enjoyable?

Easily the answer to that question is James Marsters. His performance in these novels is some of the best narration that I have ever heard.

What did you like best about this story?

The early chapters pace and sense of humor.

    Which scene was your favorite?

An altercation in a book store.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was. The pace is fast and with James's voice I could have easily done just that.

    Any additional comments?

This book does have a rather silly ending. The first half is great the second is okay. I would say this was a middle of the road for Dresden.
