Better stories, not so many old hackneyed stories.
Pretty much, will be much more careful with short stories.
The narration was wildly uneven as far as I listened, may have gotten better but I lost interest.
Not for me.
Save your money.
Sadly, the story idea started very well, but - and I almost cannot believe I am writing this- too much sex, and rather poorly done sex scenes. This author needs to understand how the human body works before anymore sex scenes, please. It was so badly done, I'm no blushing child, that I was like "yeah, yeah, he does that, pushes his huge there, goes crazy slamming into her..." and I would have skipped forward, but I am driving. The good thing? It never takes "Horse" and company too many sentences, but they are boooooring sentences.
Then the author makes the original story go off the rails and introduces too much side distractions which do not add to the book, i9mprove the flow or do anything but make it a bigger mess.
No, but this author will not be on my reading list at all- the avoid at all costs, sit in silence list will be the list this author is on.
Her voice was okay, timing okay- she just had nothing to work with.
page 6 to the end?
In the very beginning the character voices rang true, but it's like the author lost interest, and so did I.
The basic premise of the story had possibilities, by the author did nothing with the story line to have any cohesive plot.I have to admit, I did not finish the book, something I rarely do, and will be returning it, too.
Save your money or credits- I ended up so aggravated at the poor quality of the story it was just almost torture to listen to it.
Quite possibly made me hesitate over any more, and certainly none ever by this author again.
The reader was good, but the book so bad nothing would save it other than a garbage can.
None, other than Audible has a return policy, thank goodness!
Avoid. Just avoid.
Compelling, charming, sincere.
The story of the elephants is told in such a way that it's not maudlin or cheesy, but with respect and insight into them and their reasons for how they are at that moment in time. Matter of fact, all the characters in the book were treated with integrity and respect, yet still managed to hold my attention through out the entire book.
It also charmed me in many ways. The dogs in particular were so very much ....dogs, even Bijou.
This is about conservation and makes the important points without being preachy/betha better than you type, with very real portrayals of People, animals and most of all, the land.
No one favorite character, but I did have a soft spot for the orphaned young male elephant who lost not only his direct family, but his standing in the community he knew.
All were well voiced- you had no tr5ouble telling who was saying what, the tomnes were good and the reading pace excellent.
Yes. I wanted to know what was next.
Not the longest book, but well worth the time and let me "see" another world, another culture or three, and entertained me a lot.
