It's 1988 and Dexter Mayhew and Emma Morley have only just met. They both know that the next day, after college graduation, they must go their separate ways. But after only one day together, they cannot stop thinking about one another. As the years go by, Dex and Em begin to lead separate lives. And yet, unable to let go of that special something that grabbed onto them that first night, an extraordinary relationship develops between the two.

This was an okay book, nothing spectacular, although the narrator was very good. I absolutely hated the ending; it was a terrible disappointment. I had heard such good things about this book and had really anticipated listening to it, but I found it just....blah. Just not to my taste at all.

Carol Burnett is one of the most beloved and revered actresses and performers in America. The Carol Burnett Show was seen each week by millions of adoring fans and won 25 Emmys in its remarkable 11-year run. Now, in This Time Together, Carol really lets her hair down and tells one funny or touching or memorable story after another.

I really enjoyed this. Having grown up watching the "Carol Burnett Show" it was great to hear some of the behind the scene stories as well as some of her family life. I had read Carol's first autobiography "One More Time" years ago when it first came out and I loved it. "This Time Together" is not exactly a memoir. It's more like sitting around the kitchen table with an old family friend listening as they tell stories of their life; some are hilarious, some are scary, some tragic. Of course this was made all the better because Carol herself did the narration. Not only do we get to hear the Tarzan yell, but we also get the story behind it! Highly recommended.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

One of the best books I've listened to in a long time. I listened to this for so long on my iPod that my ears hurt. I could hardly stand to turn it off when it was time to go to bed. I laughed at some parts, got mad at some parts, shook my head in places and cried at the end. The narrators did a great job. They turned all the different characters into real people with their own way of speaking and distinct personalities. I highly recommend listening to this one.
