This may have been a little slower at the beginning but once again a most enjoyable book in this series.
The way Robyn Carr follows through by still bringing in characters and places in previous books of this series.
I really can't answer this question.
Just keep continuing this series. I have lived in the areas related to for many years and can't wait for the next saga to begin.
Still a favorite
It was a story I have read many times over the years from childhood to "great grandmotherhood". Being the only girl with four big brothers, I was always being put to a challenge and would seldom back down regardless of the outcome. Thus, it is easy to relate to Anne. Shelly Frasier is a marvelous reader and adapting her voice to each character.
I think it was Anne although the couple who took her in were true heroines.
Keep these old classics alive and in print so all generations may enjoy them for years to come.
The characters were very real and the story is something that could or does happen. It combined suspense, a love story and reality. Kept me on my "toes" until the end.
There were three characters I especially liked. Elizabeth Fitch aka Abigail, her dog Bert and Chief of Police Brooke. They made the story believable. One could feel Elizabeth's fear, the reaction of her excellently trained dog and the way Brooke sucessfully carried out his job in resolving to break this case. You could also feel the humanity of the story.
I am an avid reader and this lady is one the the best adapting her voice to each character. I think she would be excellent in narrating any book.
I neither laughed or cried but waited in suspense as each chapter was read to see the murderers captured. Seeing that Elizabeth could regain her real identity and live a true life was absolute relief but I hated to see the book end as it was so well written.
I felt this book was one of the best written by Nora Roberts.
I grew up in Shasta County, met my hubby in Chico and often go to many of the areas where these stories include.
It related to the small communities that my husband and I lived in when he was an elementary teacher. Now we go to Shelter Cove below Garberville often where daughter and hubby have second home. Right in the middle of grower country that often makes the news. The characters in the series are similar to ones I grew up with and it is exciting to read about them as they come to life for me. Great series and well written. Hope more are in the offing.
How her voice took on the character of each person. One of my favorite readers.
YES! I couldn't get to the next chapter fast enough yet hated to see story end.
Please add more to this wonderful series.
I would never recommend this. Not really a plot. It was the poorest choice of all the many audible books I have downloaded.
