    yes, it was a good story.


    Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

    in the fight scenes yes, but the ending was quite predicable.


    What does Steven Weber bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    He avoided the he said she said to the point you really felt that the characters were real

    The Appalachian Trail trail stretches from Georgia to Maine and covers some of the most breathtaking terrain in America - majestic mountains, silent forests, sparking lakes. If you’re going to take a hike, it’s probably the place to go. And Bill Bryson is surely the most entertaing guide you’ll find. He introduces us to the history and ecology of the trail and to some of the other hardy (or just foolhardy) folks he meets along the way - and a couple of bears. Already a classic, A Walk in the Woods will make you long for the great outdoors (or at least a comfortable chair to sit and read in).

    I have listened to this over 5 times now. There is always something you have missed before. Its my go to listen again when I am waiting on another credit for my account!
    Being a current Boy Scout leader and Having hiked the AT many times myself, I can so relate to this book. It encompasses just about every situation that you would run into on a hike. Its forays into facts about the AT is very informative as well...

    What made the experience of listening to World Without End the most enjoyable?

    The narrator does an excellent job of differentiating between characters. Always speaks in first person.. I hate the narrators that cant get by the she said they said he said of the narrative!! That always makes me disinterested in the hearing experience


    What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

    Ahhh, I'm on the last part of the book.. So I cant answer this yet ;-)

    If you could take any character from World Without End out to dinner, who would it be and why?

    Not Ralph! Not Philemon either! Any of the rest I am sure would be an interesting conversation

    Pillars of the earth was probably Ken's best book so far. This was a good exercise ina follow up to it, but did not even compare. It was a little tough going in the beginning until we got to some nail biting parts, but all in all its pretty drawn out between the gut wrenching adventures..

    I just don't understand why the "intellectuals" in this world have to stick their heads in the sand and glibly look for solutions that fit their microcosmic Humans in a box theories. This evidence is as plain as the sun shines bright.
