"Good book, Bad narrator"
J. Charles does not change his voice to distinguish between characters. He reads too fast to understand. I haven't read the other version with a different narrator but can still confidently recommend it over this one.
"What happened to Scott Brick?"
I missed the original voice of the crew of the Oregon. Hope Scott Brick returns for future installments.
"Big disappointment"
So boring. I've listened to hundreds of audiobooks and never before felt compelled to leave a bad review. This story and narrator were just so mind-numbing. I hope to save another listener from wasting their credit based on Micheal Connelly's (or anyone else's) recommendation of this novel. I wish audible had a buyback policy for lemons like this.
"Jack Reacher Novel?"
I love Reacher novels. Of the 4 I've read, this is the only one I don't like. My chief complaint is that Jack Reacher isn't even in it (not the Reacher I know, anyway). Reacher is a hostage throughout the entire story and can't seem to escape the clutches of an inept enemy. It is quite frustrating. I wanted him to kick butt the whole time, but there was very little action. It's like watching "Meet the Parents", but without the funny to make it worth the frustration.
