"average reader, average story"
The story was average and might have been a bit more interesting had the reader been up to it. The American accents employed were simply dreadful (be prepared for the mispronunciation of words such as "schedule"). Not worth the purchase price.
"Not Great"
If you want to learn everything there is to know about who founded what, then this is for you. If you want to know how any of this research is applied to humans, then keep searching. I'm sure the MS series has such an audiobook.
"a regret"
A dreadful waste of money. If you are expecting to actually learn something about French history in a meaningful way, pick something else.
"Very Well Done"
This would have gotten 5 stars, but paying almost $10 for a 2-hour audiobook seemed excessive. Catherine Tate is a wonderful actress and her characterizations gave the story life. A very good listen.
"A Compelling Story, A Fine Performance"
The good thing about Garrett is that he does such different voices for his characters, that each takes on a life of his or her own. His vocalizations don't repeat themselves from one book to another.
"Garrett provides another fine performance."
This book is slow to develop, but steadily picks up steam. A stellar performance by Garrett.
"Francis Cheviot steals the show."
Garrett's portrayal of Francis Cheviot is one of the most entertaining interpretations I have ever heard. Garrett brings all his characters to vivid life. Well done.
"Disappointing"
First, the change in readers was very disappointing and diminished the enjoyment of the story. Second, the story itself was uninspired and a patched together with literary cliches. I look forward to the next book proving this one was the equivalent of an off day.
"Only thing worse is the Greek Tales"
Poor delivery.
"Could have been worse"
Good information, poor delivery.
