"Excellent Book"
This is the first book I had the pleasure of reading (listening to) by Sophie Kinsella and I totally enjoyed it. It is also the first book I got from Audible where I simply could not stop listening. I listened to the complete book within 24 hours and loved every minute of it.
The book is warm, romantic, funny and sometimes a tad bit heartbreaking as you follow Emma on her daily adventures of love and life.
If you ever seen the movie "Maid in Manhattan", it definitely has a very similiar flavor - but in a different sort of way.
It is a great listen, I highly recommend it.
"Entertaining"
The story-line for this book was extremely entertaining.
The story line was excellent but left too many un-answered questions. I hope she is writing a book 3 for this series so there is at least closure to all the questions still looming in ones head.
She sounded more up-beat and not so monotone as she did in the first.
Definitely.. but again, as with Book 1, the length of the book did not allow it.
I still love Beezel, the garoyle the most.
"Excellent Listen"
Edge of seat
I'm not sure Did not enjoy listening to her that much. She seemed a lil flat to me. But if i had to choose, i'd say Beezel.. the gargoyle.
Yes, but took about 7 or 8 sittings.
Excellent story
"Please turn it off... it is hurting my ears!"
This is not usually the type of book I would pick to read, but I am a fan of ghost stories and such, so I thought I would give it a try. It sounded good from the descriptions and some of the reviews.
I tried to be fair, and listened to as much as I could take (made it to the end of part 1, almost) before I had to slam down the lid of my laptop and vowed to not listen to any more of it.
Some of the reviewers said they had nightmares and such from it, but to me, it was just plain silly.
When somebody died, first it was said he died one way then a few minutes later you would hear he died another way.
The characters are stupid and rude, to put it mildly..especially the main one and the ones you did like, the got killed off.
Sadly enough, I will not finish listening to this book..I'd much rather delete it than waste anymore of my time.
"That Vampire Said ...."
When I first downloaded this book I did not think I would like it, but was willing to take a chance on it. Lo and Behold, I found this book most excellent.
The characters are beguiling and mysterious and you soon learn about them in a most intimate manner.
There is lots of romance along with plenty of suspense. You would think those two would not match as well as they did. But not only does this book keep you on the edge of your seat, but it keeps you giggling like a young girl as she watches a love story unfold in front of her eyes.
This was an excellent listen and I would suggest anybody to give it a go.
"Absolutely Love.."
I absolutely loved this book. It was an excellent read and definitely fun for the older reader as well. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and you really are not sure how things will turn out, for the better or not?
But I was not let down and I don't think anybody else would be either. Read it! :-)
"Older Reader Loves ..."
I am an 'older' reader and I thought this book was absolutely the best. It made me smile, laugh and even cry. A definite recommended reading by anybody who loves more 'innocence and humor' in their readings.
"Superior Book!"
I simply loved this book. It is a book full of wonder, delight and it keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what kind of crazy, quirky thing is going to happen to poor Mr. Paul Carpenter this time around.
Most compared it to 'The Hitchhikers Guide..', but I found it much more entertaining. I also totally enjoyed the Narrator who seemed to bring each character to life in a way I never expected.
This would have to be the best book I've heard to date. Simply Divine.
"Hated To Love"
This was a book I hated to love? Hah. If that makes sense. The main character of the book is so into herself, so grumpy, so back-stabbing and snot-nosed I was not sure how or why I kept on listening. I would say the Author was able to intrigue me enough that I was curious how things were going to end and at times I actually found myself cheering and or feeling bad for the snot-nosed back-stabber.
If you are looking for a good, quick read.. give this one a try. You may be pleasantly surprised.
"Very Positive!"
I thought the book in general was very positive and had a had a very positive flow to it. I loved Louis Hay's affirmations and the concept of the way we need to change our thoughts regarding money and ourselves in general.
The only thing I did not like was I thought there was too much audience interaction. Some is good, but I thought she over did it in that department a bit too much.
