"Couldn't finish the book..."
I don't think I was committed to the book. When they explain some cryptography by telling you equations and spitting out numbers, it's hard to focus on. I'm a geek/nerd by nature and this stuff is interesting however I think I'd need to see it on paper to understand it. I wasn't attached to the characters either.
"Hard for me to finish"
I think this is one of the few books that would have been better to read. I couldn't get into the story due to the narrator. The southern drawl is terrible. I also had issues with some of the characters. I can't go into detail due to spoilers.
"My friends wondered where I was all weekend..."
Amazing book. Amazing series. I basically haven't done anything for the past 3 days so I could listen to it all. Every time I read/listen to a story on this level, I feel empty when I have to wait for the next. I agree with the extra time spent on it. It was worth it.
"Another Addiction"
I never write reviews but I do usually rate the audio books I truly consume my life. If you love Jim Butcher's Princeps' Fury and Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn Series, you'll love this first installment of Patrick Rothfuss. The narration is great due to the degree of character separation which ends up being entertaining story telling. I only wish I could find more series like this. I've ran out of scifi/fantasy books to listen to and crave more...
"Hack the Planet!"
If you are into computers, have a good technical background, love science fiction, and still watch the movie Hackers from time to time, you will enjoy this audio book. This would be a great movie but would it would suck if it was made on a cheap budget. Well done Daniel Suarez. I will look forward to future books by you. Do I see a sequel in the future?
