"Lacking"
I too was enticed by the beginning on the story but it quickly became mundane. Hunter was a character that I felt could have been developed into so much more. Sara was flat. Both characters were like able but neither made you want to go the extra mile. The pace of the romance was unrealistic and the backstory, felt contrived. I would give the author another shot because the premise of the book was good.
"As good as it gets"
This book is one that got it right all around. The story was exceptional and gave me a glimpse into a time I didn't live. My mother was the daughter of a housekeeper and this was her reality. I'm happy to have a better understanding.
Most audiobooks are hit or miss with the narrators and this one hit it in all areas. The voices and accents throughout the book made me want to keep listening. This is definitely one of my all time favorites
"Good story"
I was pleased that not only lesbians are shown but older lesbians were the central characters in this book. I enjoyed listening.
"Classic"
This classic story is a wonderfully quick listen. I love that it brought back some great childhood memories.
"Ok book"
As glad as I am that lesbian books are becoming available on audible, there are many more I'd rather see than this one. It's a cute story but if you've read Radclyffe once, you need not really read more if you want a different story. They seem to follow the theme of two unlikely people meeting, not getting along, falling in love, crisis, ending with living happily ever after. Again, loving that lesbian books are available but this story is old. There are also two skips on the recording making it a bit distracting.
