There is nothing more to say, if you read the summary you have 98% of the story minus the pornographic stuff. I like more for my money, the story is absolutely poor, narration not to bad, I don't blame her.

There are definitely better ways to spend an actual credit and better yet 7 hours. Read reviews on other books, and don't buy into any hype here.

I decided to purchase this book for several reasons - I like reading a mixture of fantasy, adventure and romance, and if i can find a decent book I will try it. Second Jill Redfield is the narrator of the infamous crossfire series, which is viciously good she sounds alot like Anne Hathaway which is a plus for any book. Also alot of positive reviews for this one

Of the many mythical creatures I don't find were-creatures to be particularly interesting, so a big negative for me was that this book not only that the universe circled around this group but we don't see the authors take on any other types of creature. But otherwise I loved the main character, her sarcasm at times really made me laugh out loud. Throughout the book, she kept a very realistic perspective about her relationship with the male lead which was always on the more physical side up to a point. Learning about the reactions of their internal wolves made for great entertainment and the structure of their wolf packs and society, seemed plausible for the most part.

I don't know that I would tune in for the continuation of the series 9wolves are not my cup of tea) but I would love to check out more books from the author and would listen to anything interesting with Jill as narrator.

The plot of this book caught me eye, along with alot of good reviews which were worth their merit.

The book is well written in terms of the characters and environment, introduces you to a unique young lady who doesn't know anything really about her past or the pseudo family that she loves or the chore she is consistently asked complete. We step into the murky world of angels and chimeera (which are not demons in this case, just different from angels) embattled in a war that began with their ancestors for reasons that no longer exist. And our star crossed lovers enter the picture -an angel and mystery girl.

I have not given away the plot, there is so much more inside, definitely a whole new universe has to be explained in the second book which is out. I however hold to my assessment that this is not a young adult book, there are sexual over and undertones throughout this book. Also the topic of angels and what are basically demons, are much more on the real side than the very fictional vampires, werewolves and ghouls, and can and will confuse a young person who is not inclined to understand that is a complete and total work of fiction. There are other options out there for fantasy YA, this one is really on the border. However it is a good read otherwise and I look forward to seeing what else is in store.

I purchased this book wanting to properly start a Sherrilyn Kenyon series, after separately purchasing and enjoying some of her other books, Dance with the Devil and Born in Silence I found that even by themselves they had beautiful writing, well thought out plot-lines and steamy fun between characters where relationships grew throughout the books after some challenges.

I found that was hardly able to finish this book for several reasons. First I hated the narrator, same person from Dance with the Devil, and ironically he uses the same voice for two supposedly different characters. I understand why this male lead in Dance with the Devil would consistently sounded bitter, sharp and angry. I don't get it in this book and it made me dislike the character.

Second, a dream god who goes into dreams to feed on the emotions of the host, some are dedicated to certain types of dreams like sexual or violent dreams, is stupid. And the fact that they have to be killed if they get addicted to one human, because what they do in the long term is dangerous to humans. Its just a stupid plot, so much worst than dark hunters, worse than average Olympian gods drama or the league, I just couldn't get into it. There is alot more information in the book beyond this overall premise and there is an entire series is build around it but I will not go one with this series.

Third, there is no build up for these characters in terms of a relationship. This may be a bit of a spoiler, but these two are hot and heavy from the very beginning. I realized in the middle that I don't see them as a good couple because they are not a good couple. They are simply forced together from the first chapter of the book through her dreams and he fights to consistently to have sex with her in the real world, not because she isn't willing but because I can feel the author stretching the story even though the characters do not really learn more about each other or really get any closer.

There is some action in this book that did not make it a complete disappointment, but the still this story-line is very flimsy. I know this author is so much better than this book and I look forward to checking out her other work. If audible gives another sale I would probably give one more book in this series a chance.

This book started off slow, slow enough to make me stop and remove it from my ipod. It took a lack of credits and pure boredom to make me re download and try and suffer through it. I made it all the way through, but I would never repeat the experience nor will I make the mistake of giving the author another chance.

Here is what went right with the book. I love love love Susan Ericksen from the "In death" series and the book has a decent summary. I love cards and black jack in particular and all of the fancy tricks, probability kept me going. I'm ok with some historical romance, though I will have to stay away from the genre for a while to recover from this book.

But that is where the goodness ends. Susan has a very bland and slow english accent that she uses for all the characters and the narration (which wasn't necessary). The issue is that she can do the accent for maybe one character but doesn't have the talent to do it for the whole book. The story of this book is just hard to believe and incredibly predictable. There is no reason a gentleman can fall in love with a whore at first sight. There is no way he should be so guilty for doing what anyone with a brain would consider a good deed, to the point that he considers it to be a secret shame. All the sad background stories will not convince me that the premise of this romance makes sense. Not from his perspective anyways. There is also a stupid pending duel that covers like half of the book, and it really was ABSOLUTELY NOT NECESSARY (either party could just call it off).

I won't give away any more of the book, but BUYER BEWARE, there are better books out there, even for this genre and definitely by the narrator.

This book has been trending as a best seller for weeks now, so as soon as I listened to the sample to determine if I could take the narrator I had to buy. It is a decent book, I listened to the whole thing in about two sittings. Not surprising that the hype is built around another lead who that has photographic memory, this one talent seems to be working for all who use it, from the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and the Witness.

I have to say the I do not generally like period pieces, the language for me is unbearable and the fake British accents on narration is the worst. However, I was so happy to hear that it was much toned down for this book because the characters were Scottish and part french, which means the narrator didn't try to use a strong accent either way. The narrator did a decent job and made the book a pleasurable experience.

The second most compelling feature outside of the peculiarities of Lord Ian was undoubtably that there were several very very hot scenes with some very blunt dirty talk for the period that the book is framed. This was a hilarious surprise for me as none of the wording would be sexual in today's world but actually quite technical. The characters actually fit together quite nicely and Lord Ian has a surprising tender and loving relationship with his brothers, that I do love where ever I see it in this book.

Out with the good and in with the bad.The story was not all that interesting and in fact, the photographic memory was barely used for the entirety of the book. Alot of other reviewers found the fact that the star couldn't look people in the eye or focus on conversation to be quite endearing or some handicapp which make women swoon for the character in pity. I however, found it to be quite creepy, and find it even more difficult to believe that he could have a real relationship if he really only focuses on his side of a conversation (of course they got around this fact in the book). I actually felt so bad for her, that multiple times in bed she could not get him to look at her. This is not a turn on.

Technically well written, good narration, regular plot formula with a lot of steam, I give 4 out of 5. I would recommend for a light summer read.

I am not generally lured into these feel good romances, as the plots are generally way too slow paced for my tastes, but due to some interesting reviews, I gave this one a shot.This book kept my interest peeked just about the whole way through.

The book has a shattered and troubled male lead (which is my fav time) who seemingly just keeps making awful decisions through out the story, as it relates to a budding relationship with the female lead. So the book takes fabulous turns from the routine "getting to know you" formula to "OMG did that really just happen!" I also like this because, yes people realistically do make decisions based on paralyzing drama from past events that have nothing to do with the current situation and from plain old selfishness. And a good book and narrator should truly take the reader on this emotional roller-coaster with our characters.

This is no romance mixed in a thriller, or adventure, so I will not give it perfect ratings, but if you are looking for a well written enjoyable wholesome romance only, then look no further. My rating is 3.5 out of 5.

I would absolutely recommend this book. The first few chapters are very exciting and shoots you into the very protected world of a suburban teen with photographic memory, who breaks free of her parental shackles one and her planned path to unexpectedly encounter a world of organized crime. Sounds good right?

Outside of the first few chapters where she grows up and moves to the small southern town is where is gets more slow paced for me. Even the male lead that she eventually meets and connects with is alot on the easier and relaxed side for the pace I thought established earlier is the book. But the story line is still very good, there is a strong connection between the characters and great narrator who pulls you into the head of our leading lady. I don't think that this book was as hot and steamy as it should have been, but I don't really expect that from Nora Roberts, as it is not her style.

I'd give this book a 4.5 out of 5, I highly recommend that you spend that long awaited credit on this one.

This is one of the shorter listens and I don't think i even got to the end. I won't waste too much time explaining why so here is the short list.

1. Terrible narrator, horrible accents
2. Terrible male lead, he acts and sounds like a white trash that the female lead really should have ran away from (but this is romance so she comes back to him of course).

This is the crux of the matter for me, if you hate of the leads in a romance there is no way to enjoy the story. I know that Sandra Brown loves to write about this culture (southern) but this audible was a complete fail. I would not recommend it.

Let's not pretend we don't know what this book is. First came the silver tie, the silver mask, the hand cuffs and now golden cufflinks. If you have been dying to read another book with a innocent girl and an overpowering billionaire with childhood issue and highly descriptive sexy time in every other chapter you will get your money's worth in this book.

This book is well written and well narrated. The narrator actually sounds just like Anne Hathaway, who has a great voice by the way. She is able to switch nicely between her small cast of characters and has a smooth and natural flow through the reading.

The bad part about this book is that there is not much development of the characters, the author expects that you know the characters like Christian oops l mean Gideon, from other sources. The author also expects you to believe there is some deeper connection between these characters that is explained no where in the book. Which to an extent is fine, but the author still doesn't take that time saved to develop a thrilling plot, there are really no plot twists, surprises, adventure, or even villains (just very subtle ones, which don't count). The plot instead seems moves through the personal issues of the characters, which is kind of interesting but not to sustain a whole book by itself.

Overall, I will give Book 2 a read because the book is technically well written and I like the narrator. I would not recommend, if you are a prude, if you generally do not care for romance but are into some other genre, especially if you hated twilight or 50 shades plot-wise.
