Only listened to it, didn't read it.
All the little mentioned facts about George Washington and how they all played a huge part in shaping him as a leader and how they helped him shape our country.
Not sure if I heard him before but he was very good.
It made me proud to be an American.
This should be required reading for ALL American citizens and especially those who are elected to office as a requirement to occupy that "elected" position. I live in an city that played a significant part in the history of the Revolutionary War period, and in very close proximity to a major civil war battlefield. These are the places my parents took us to when on vacation and how I learned about what a great and unique country we live in and mainly all because of one man -- George Washington. Thank you Glen for writing this book.
I love a book that draws me in right from the beginning and keeps me interested until the end. Just when I thought the story was drawing to a conclusion it threw some more twists and turns in. I will be getting more of these stories. I just loved Ceepak and Danny and their interaction together. I like to be entertained, and that is exactly what Tilt a Whirl did.
I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy this book at first as it started out a bit slow. I soon became engrossed as the storyline progressed. It was not a faced paced thriller but it was a great read on a long drive. I found myself trying to solve the mystery, and also becoming interested in the residents of Three Pines and in particular Gamache. I found myself loving his character. I definitely will be listening to more of this series.
Story was good, but I found the narrator's permanent whisper very distracting and at times down right annoying. I think I would have enjoyed this book much better if I would have just read the printed word. I don't think I will purchase anything read by Ms. Dunne again. The only thing that kept me from finishing the book was that I do enjoy Patricia MacDonald's writing.
I found the story to be entertaining and it kept me listening to the very end. However I found the ending seemed to be clipped short. The story had very great detail in almost everything except when it came to the ending. I don't like loose ends. There should have been an epilogue or something to give a more satisfying look into what happened after the fact. I did enjoy it over all but would not be a read over (or listen over) as some books are.
Sorry, not my kind of story. I had a hard time getting thru this one and found that there was to much bad language for my tastes. Would not listen to another one from this author.
I listened to this story on radio a number of years ago and was delighted to find it here. It is one of those listens that you just have to let it happen and not analyze it to death. It is a fun "Sci-Fi" story.
I enjoyed the adventure. I listened to it on a long drive and it made that drive seem much shorter than it was. When I bought the book, I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by all the twists and turns.
I never get tired of listening to the Mrs. Pollifax series. The Elusive Mrs. Pollifx is entertaining and one of the best of the series.
Mrs. Pollifx of course!
Yes and I love her reading style. I find she has the ability to make you believe she really is Mrs. Pollifax.
If you want a fun read (or listen) try the Mrs. Pollifax series. The first one is "The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax". I find the first 4 of this series to be the best, but I have enjoyed them all.
I so appreciate MHC stories. Not only are they suspensful and interesting, but also that she does not have to include bad language such as the "f" word on every page or graphic descriptions that some writers today feel they need to insert to sell their books. I know that when I chose a Mary Higgins Clark book, I am going to be entertained and not disgusted. Please keep it up.
