I thought the story was excellent, and did a very firm balance job of presenting both yahoos challenges as well as Marissa's challenges. The story is not yet over, so it is left as open ended. It makes me look forward to seeing how this resolves. Reading the story I find she has very dynamic aspects that would be a valuable addition to any company as well as weaknesses which could make her a terrible liability as well. All in all a fascinating depiction of a fascinating person.
The narration was excellent and very easy to listen to.
Actually I loved the narration the best. Stefanie Wolf really nails the tone of the writing well. The story is not my normal fare, but it made me smile and the writing was tight. It was a very nice change from my normal fare, and I really did enjoy it. Not every book works well in audio form, but this is a great start.
Rose because of her sarcasm
It made me smile which was even more important.
The book is for a younger audience, but the writing was good enough that I enjoyed it as well.
I admit it, I am a fan of any books on cooking, from Bill Buford's Heat to Tony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential. This book is the first one I have listened to rather than read. The narrator is excellent, and I can close my eyes and imagine it is Chef Boulud speaking to me.
It's not a long book, but fascinating to listen to.
