This 10th novel in Robyn Carr’s New York Times best-selling series features scruffy-looking ex-Navy gynecologist Aiden Riordan and prickly lawyer Erin Foley. While each just wants to get away from it all for the summer, a bear scare, a bizarre concussion, and a hilarious case of mistaken identity thrust them together and kindle an unlikely romance. Then Aiden’s scheming ex-wife shows up.

    Overall

This book was pure female escapism and got me through some sleepness nights due to illness. I enjoyed it and was going to purchase another from the serious but balked at more of the same. I know this is romantic fiction but ...life in this little town is just too perfect. I don't think I have ever read a book where the male characters are so clearly written to be every housewife's dream - sensitive, thoughtful, posessing amazing insight into how woman think and total focused on the lady in their life. Too much dialogue where the male characters demonstrate such sensitivity etc. Predictable romance, not so predictable but rather far fetched sub plot. Great narrator though.

Peter Mayle once again returns to the beautiful but complicated world of Provence, to find that the highly competitive boutique wine trade has hidden depths that cannot be hidden by the sunny grape arbors above the ground. Mayle's usual fish-out-of-water British protagonist comes to inspect a Provencal vineyard left to him by his newly-dead uncle.

Very evocative of its setting - I could almost feel the sun on my back as I listened. A good little plot/mystery, interesting characters and fab narration.

Meet Maggie Fortenberry, a still beautiful former Miss Alabama. To others, Maggie’s life seems practically perfect - she’s lovely, charming, and a successful real estate agent at Red Mountain Realty. Still, Maggie can’t help but wonder how she wound up in her present condition....

Could not get past the first hour. Not sure if it was the story or the narration. Both were pretty slow.

Stella Fain has a rule for men she likes: make them wait. But the gorgeous Jay proves an exception to the rule when he bowls Stella off her Prada wedges at a press junket on the Cote d'Azur.

I wish this had happened to me! Likeable main characters and I loved the parts of the story dealing with the happenings at The Journal. Lovely narrator except for Jay's voice - too girly and soppy...not ideal for the male romantic lead.
