Didn't like this book as well as others.. Had to fast forward through some of it. I dislike sequels that retells the story from previous books in the sequel. Three very sad
story lines in one book. However, did have a happy ending.

To those who matter in 1950s Hollywood, Lena Scott is the hottest rising star to hit the silver screen since Marilyn Monroe. Few know her real name is Abra. Even fewer know the price she' s paid to finally feel like she' s somebody. To Pastor Ezekiel Freeman, Abra will always be the little girl who stole his heart the night he found her, a wailing newborn abandoned under a bridge on the outskirts of Haven.

This was a very touching and moving story about forgiveness.

The narrator did an excellent job (wish she also narrated the Author's notes at the end of the book) in depicting each of the characters. She made me laugh and cry.

I would have given this story a 5 star rating if the author did not leave you hanging at the end about one of the characters in the book.

Overall the story was fairly good. However, predictable. Parts of the story were very touching. Somewhat disappointed in the narration. I do enjoy Christina Moore. However, I never understand when you have two narrators - a male and female - why the male can't do the male parts and vice-a-versa. Other than that it was a nice listen.

Herman Wouk's sweeping epic of World War II stands as the crowning achievement of one of America's most celebrated storytellers. Like no other books about the war, Wouk's spellbinding narrative captures the tide of global events - and all the drama, romance, heroism, and tragedy of World War II - as it immerses us in the lives of a single American family drawn into the very center of the war's maelstrom.

At points this book was very interesting, and kept me wanting to finish to see how it ended. However, I didn't appreciate the vulgarity and using the Lord's name in vain through out the book. I also didn't appreciate the fact that the author made about every main character live an immoral lifestyle.

Narrator did a fantastic job of distinguishing between all the characters. I would have rated the story five stars if it had not been for the author ending the story very abruptly and left you wondering if there is going to be a sequel - some unanswered questions. Very much enjoyed the story line.

I have listened to the entire series. The main character from first book drags out into all three books before her story has a good ending. The material in this last book was poorly written, and very unbelievable. I won't mention the details, as I don't want to spoil the story line for anyone who still might want to get it. Although this narrator does a good job, it was very disappointing that the same narrator that did the first two did not narrate this one.

    1. Could not see anywhere on Audible's website what version of the Bible this was done in. Very disappointed in the translation.

    2. Would be helpful if the audio bible was broke down in books (not parts), etc. so it would be easier to select a certain book you wanted to listen too.

    3. Also this particular audio book shows Angela Bassett as the main narrator. However, the main narration was done by a male - not a female.

    4. I found the voice for Moses dull and very irritating.

    5. Some the background music grated on my nerves (especially the high-pitched strings)

    6. I find it extremely interesting that the group who put this audiobook together used various voices (including female!) for David in the book of Psalms.

If it wasn't for all the aforementioned I might would have given this four stars for overall.

I AM AN AVID BIBLE READER AND FOUND PORTIONS OF THIS BOOK NOT IN SCRIPTURE. ALSO FOUND PARTS OF THE BOOK VERY IRRITATING FOR REASON OR ANOTHER AND HAD TO FAST FORWARD THROUGH PARTS OF THE BOOK. AGAIN THE BEST PART OF THE BOOK WAS THE NARRATOR. I WILL NOT BE LISTENING TO THE OTHER TWO BOOKS IN THIS SERIES.
