Welcome to Grace Valley, California - where blood runs thicker…ties are stronger…and love is all the more sweet. Visitors to the town often remark about the valley's peace and beauty - both of which are plentiful. Unlocked doors, front porches, pies cooling in the windows - this is country life at its finest. But visitors don't always see what lies at the heart of a community. Or just beyond.… June Hudson grew up in Grace Valley, the daughter of the town doctor. Leaving only to get her medical training, she returned home and followed in her father's footsteps.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes because I enjoy Therese Plummer! She distinguishes so well between the different characters.

Do you think Deep in the Valley needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

It was like an overall introduction to the town of grace valley. Many characters were introduced, and few were developed in depth.

    Any additional comments?

The relationship between Jim and June just sort of happens. Carr is so much more capable of character development. But it just didn't happen here. Either she needs to focus more on drama in June's life, or more on romance. This story is a superficial mixture of both.

Jane Darlington is a genius at physics, but there's one problem she can't solve. She yearns for a child, but wants to spare it the pain of growing up as...well, a nerd. And surely any child of Jane's would be a little too brainy for the playground set. So she sets out to find a special man to father her child, someone without too much gray-matter between his ears: in short, a big, strong dope. Cal Bonner, legendary pro quarterback, seems to fit the bill. But there's something Dr. Jane hasn't counted on.

Would you try another book from Susan Elizabeth Phillips and/or Anna Fields?

No. I just couldn't get into the characters enough to bother using another credit. I didn't care for Fields male voices either.

What was most disappointing about Susan Elizabeth Phillips’s story?

Silly, superficial characters that I couldn't enjoy.

    Any additional comments?

Silly plot line that I just couldn't get into. The character development just didn't make me finish the book liking the characters.

When Carlisle Wainwright Cushing leaves her native Texas to start a new life in Boston, she has no regrets. The former Texas debutante, who never felt at home in her Southern skin, has found liberation - or so she thinks until, one day, she gets an urgent call from her mother.

Great Texas fun for this Californian who has never been there.
