Laugh-out-loud funny and deeply touching, Beth Hoffman's sparkling debut is, as Kristin Hannah says, "packed full of Southern charm, strong women, wacky humor, and good old-fashioned heart." It is a novel that explores the indomitable strengths of female friendship and gives us the story of a young girl who loses one mother and finds many others.

On New Year's Eve, she tumbles 700 years back in time - and into the bed of a darkly handsome knight. Sir Gaston de Varennes wanted a docile bride who would fit into his plans for vengeance and justice, but a trick of time finds him married to a thoroughly modern American lady who turns his castle, his life, and his heart upside down. Will her desperate secret tear them apart after only a few bittersweet weeks of stolen passion - or will they conquer mistrust, treachery, and time itself to discover a love that spans the centuries?

What disappointed you about Forever His?

    Plot was terribly predictable.

What was most disappointing about Shelly Thacker’s story?

She spends so much time telling you what the characters are feeling, but very little happens in plot development. Enough already! Don't expect it to be in any way like the plot twists and love between Claire and Jamie.

    Any additional comments?

Don't waste a credit on this shallow, predictable story.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It's exciting, quick paced, and takes place OUTSIDE of England.

What did you like best about this story?

    The romance remained unpredictable.

Have you listened to any of Justine Eyre’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I enjoyed all her different voices for the characters.

    Any additional comments?

An exciting historical romance that takes place outside of England. Glad I used a credit to get it. I will look for others by this author.

Jane Darlington is a genius at physics, but there's one problem she can't solve. She yearns for a child, but wants to spare it the pain of growing up as...well, a nerd. And surely any child of Jane's would be a little too brainy for the playground set. So she sets out to find a special man to father her child, someone without too much gray-matter between his ears: in short, a big, strong dope. Cal Bonner, legendary pro quarterback, seems to fit the bill. But there's something Dr. Jane hasn't counted on.

Would you try another book from Susan Elizabeth Phillips and/or Anna Fields?

No. I just couldn't get into the characters enough to bother using another credit. I didn't care for Fields male voices either.

What was most disappointing about Susan Elizabeth Phillips’s story?

Silly, superficial characters that I couldn't enjoy.

    Any additional comments?

Silly plot line that I just couldn't get into. The character development just didn't make me finish the book liking the characters.

Welcome to Grace Valley, California - where blood runs thicker…ties are stronger…and love is all the more sweet. Visitors to the town often remark about the valley's peace and beauty - both of which are plentiful. Unlocked doors, front porches, pies cooling in the windows - this is country life at its finest. But visitors don't always see what lies at the heart of a community. Or just beyond.… June Hudson grew up in Grace Valley, the daughter of the town doctor. Leaving only to get her medical training, she returned home and followed in her father's footsteps.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes because I enjoy Therese Plummer! She distinguishes so well between the different characters.

Do you think Deep in the Valley needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

It was like an overall introduction to the town of grace valley. Many characters were introduced, and few were developed in depth.

    Any additional comments?

The relationship between Jim and June just sort of happens. Carr is so much more capable of character development. But it just didn't happen here. Either she needs to focus more on drama in June's life, or more on romance. This story is a superficial mixture of both.
