Life gets complicated when love turns out to be nothing like you expected - and the woman you want is too close to touch. Gretchen Kaiser is a workaholic corporate honcho with issues - she’s got daddy issues, she’s got female-executive-in-a-man’s-world issues, and she’s got one-night-stand issues. What she doesn’t have are love issues. She isn’t looking for it, she doesn’t feel she needs it, and she doesn’t expect to find it…certainly not right under her nose. Kylie O’Brien is the kind of girl who believes in true love and is willing to wait until it shows up at her door.

There's nothing spectacular about this, it is what it is a trashy romance ,not that theirs anything wrong with trashy romances ,sometimes that's just what you require if that's what you want than this shouldn't disappoint.

The glorious Phryne Fisher returns to the spotlight in her seventh adventure. Fisher is an independent, unconventional PI with competence, unflappability and flamboyance in equal measures.

Running late to the Hinkler gala performance of Gilbert and Sullivan's Ruddigore, she meets some thugs in a dark alley and handles them convincingly before they can ruin her silver dress. Phryne then finds that she has rescued a gorgeous Chinese, Lin Chung, and his grandmother, and is briefly mistaken for a deity.

It's happened and it's terrible I didn't like this one ,I know you are all shouting at your screen "how is that possible " but it is never the less true ,this tale is set in theater ,where the titles play is read constantly and sung, I love this narrator but singing is not her forte and I started finding it quite annoying ,I would never say don't read these books but just be warned ."on the plus side we are introduced to Miss Fishers Chinese gentleman friend about time.

The Honourable Miss Phryne Fisher is feeling dull. But is shebored enough to leave her identity, her home and family behind and join Farrell’s Circus and Wild Beast Show? There have beenstrange things happening at the circus. And when Phryne is asked by her friends – Samson the Strong Man, Alan the carousel operator and Doreen the Snake Woman – to help them, curiosity gets the better of her.

We find our heroin ,under the big top of a struggling circus, board with her mundane life she gives up the maids and a soft bed for the rugged and harsh circus grounds ,were she is tested socially and psychically finding solace in the arms of a sad clown. There is a lot of swearing in this thanks to the very lovable lizard Elsy ,I only mention in case this turns you away from the ever entertaining Miss Fisher, which would be a great pity.

From then on it's all cocaine and communism until her adventure reaches its steamy end in the Turkish baths of Little Lonsdale Street.

In Phryne's third adventure, Phryne is off to Ballarat for a week of fabulousness, but the sedate journey by train turns out to be far from the restful trip she was planning. What was planned as a restful country sojourn turns into the stuff of nightmares: a young girl who can't remember anything, rumours of vile white slavery and the body of an old woman missing her emerald rings.

She'd promised everyone a nice holiday by the sea with absolutely no murders, but when they arrive at their rented accommodation that doesn't seem likely at all.

Tristan Taormino, the biggest name in lesbian erotica, picks 22 tales of lesbian desire to send the mercury soaring. Lust, love, strip down, strap-on - it's all here. As always, Taormino sets the standard for lesbian erotic writing with stories that entertain, surprise, and arouse. Lighter in tone than Taormino's other collections, these stories get right to the good part. Contributors include Rakelle Valencia, Skian McGuire, Maria Helena Dolan, Cheyenne Blue, L. Shane Conner, and Jean Roberta.

A fellow reviewer had said that bitter sweet was a perfect title for this story and they where spot on .
This is a book of constant contrasts ,I find myself still thinking about the people that inhabited the pages wondering what there doing now, they touched me on a deep level not only in a touching way but also in a traumatic way ,this is seamlessly well made and very well told every detail is laid out unashamed and un flinching ,something I found confuting and joyful mostly in the same sentence. This is a harsh tale set in a harsh land ,and at times I found it hard to hear ,If your after a fluffy romance ,skip this if your after a realistic poetic and raw experience this is for you .( have the tissues on hand).

I always thought as fairy's as creatures at the bottom of your garden, but in this wicked offering the world of fairy is anything but sweet and gentle in fact these mischief's and some times cruel foke make our heroins life a misery . I found this refreshing and quietly strong in it's narrative, something of which I found quit likeable I never thought I'd like a book about fairy's but I did and this led me to other novels that I have also enjoyed so,for a good heroin who finds her true self and a bunch of pissed of far foke I say go crazy.

Dr. Ali Torveau knows just how fragile life can be - she sees death and tragedy every day in the trauma unit. Battling the dark forces of fate is her life's work and she doesn't want or need anything else, certainly nothing as transient as love. Plenty of women try to change her mind, but she never has any trouble saying no. Not until the day firefighter Beau Cross shows up in her ER and sets Ali’s carefully ordered world aflame.

I don't know if I would have enjoyed this tale more of the serious Trauma doctor Ali ,battling her feelings for the hot and ripped firer fighter Beau, although not very hard if it wasn't was read by somebody who sounded like she was reading from a cook book her rhythm is of and with this kind of novel you need that ,granted this is not a a classic by any means but it didn't deserve this .It could have been so much better with a better narrator .
