Wow! Fast paced and dynamic storyline. I enjoyed the twists and turns of this highly dysfunctional family. Not crazy about the gratuitous sex scenes, but the story kept my attention. Excited to read the next installment.
While I tend to stick with a few genres I enjoy, I decided to try this book frankly because the title made me chuckle. I know, I know, you can't judge a book and all that... Nevertheless, when I got into the storyline, I found the characters engaging and the content hilarious. I loved the inclusion of the music and a plot that I could identify with. In fact, I'm hoping this book is part of a series because I'd love to listen through some more church shenanigans.
I was looking for a good book to keep my attention and this one definitely fit the bill. Great character development and a wonderful storyline. Thank you Victoria Murray, consider this another one that I'll call a favorite.
David Baldacci created scenarios and a storyline that is simply amazing! I was captured throughout this entire book, waiting for what would happen next. Love this series.
This book really touched my soul with the flawless depiction of slavery in the south. I can't think of anything Sue Monk Kidd's written that I didn't love and The Invention of Wings is not an exception. I was swept into the Charlestonian era as soon as the first words were uttered and I was literally captivated throughout this poignant story of hope and hopelessness. I would highly recommend sinking into the depths of this epic novel.
I think I've read every Robyn Carr book and, while realizing that this book would be different, I wasn't ready for such a departure from her tried and true genre. In short, I loved it. I liked the character development and the twists and turns of the storyline. I was initially a little conflicted with Jackie's "hunches" about Tom, but just decided to go with it and now I'm glad I did. Robyn, feel free to entertain/scare us with more of these stories.
This story really is a tight narrative that twists and turns it's way into your psyche. I'm new to Gillian Flynn, and usually don't commit to an author so quickly, but I think she had me at crazy. I'll definitely return for more!
This story ruined a family weekend! I was so captured by this story that I neglected my family for an entire weekend while I listened. This story was a nice mixture of intrigue and romance.
I am listening to the end of this book while I write this review because I was so excited that I couldn't wait. I absolutely love Sophie Kinsella and this book does not disappoint. Poppy and Sam are absolutely dreamy and I can't wait to hear more about them. Sophie has a flair for funny, lovable, endearing characters and these are no exception. Read it, listen to it, just get it.
I really missed the familiar voice of David Colacci whom I've come to know and love as the personification of your books. If you're attempting to go in a different direction with your reader, please turn around NOW. This was painful.
