The narration was good, Ms. Godwin did a great job with both male and female voices. The storyline was plausible, for fantasy, and I liked the conflict the main character went through the love/hate dichotomy. Looking forward to book #2.
...it's for our own good.
I love a British accent and it's one of my favorites to listen to, however, this narration was irritating! Had a stick up her bum! Way too formal for my taste.
Not sure I'll listen to the next two in the series simply because of the narration.
Yes, loved the series!
She did a great job with all of the characters.
Would appreciate anything new from Ms Garriger!
I really liked the authors first book in this series. I was so looking forward to this second book. It just didn't meet the standards of the first. I will likely continue to listen to the next book in the series to see what happens, however if that's a disappointment I'm done...
Yes to Judith Merkle - No to Hollis McCarthy
Good mix of fantasy and historic characters
Heavens no! Couldn't stand some of the male voices she uses, made them sound like imbeciles!
Almost quit listening about Chapter 3, story line developed way too slowly. It picked up after that thank goodness.
Yes, quite an enjoyable listen. Good story and great narration!
looking forward to all of the books in the series.
better narration would have been a starter. I swear I kept hearing the reader swallow and her voice would break. Also sounded like a kid...kind of creepy when you're listening to a steamy romance.
sounds like a kid
I wouldn't cut, I would add...
Only if they couldn't find anything else to listen to...
She sounded like a teenager...a more mature voice would have been better and Alex sounded like a drip.
It was a great book, fairly long but kept my attention the entire time. I will read more from this author.
