This is a great book! I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was slightly predictable, but I can't wait 'till the next two! The narration did sound like it was recorded in a tunnel, though.

Although the story is dark and disturbing, Kristen Potter's narration is like a soothing balm that is full of somber nostalgia.

It was an okay story. I purchased this based on reviews, but it did not hold up to the hype. Anyone who liked this would try an Ann River Siddons novel.

This book reflects the qualities that makes Hoffman one of my favorite authors. It has nuances of Blackbird House which marks the unique signature of Hoffman's writing. The characters are strong, and insightful, with human frailties that make them both unique and relatable. The worlds she creates are as if the stories are told by the form of a mountain with omnipresent qualities that watches our worlds come and go with the passage of time. She incorporates the everyday with a subtle hint of the mistical that opens ones heart to the wonders and unknown possibilities of the world around us.

I liked this story. It has it's "hokie" moments, but it is a nice story with interesting characters, and a likeable heroine.

I loved this book! The story is very engaging . The main character is likeable. The adventures are great. It's a shame it is only a trilogy- I don't want his story to end.

And not in a good way. I'm not uptight about crudeness, but this is perhaps one of the crudest stories I've ever listened to. It seemed cpmpletely out of character from this author. I've read/listened to all his other books and really enjoyed them. So when I saw the poor reviews, I simply thought people were being overly sensitive-WRONG! I could not listen past the part 1 download. What was he thinking?!!!! I wish I could reapply my credit.

Kate DiCamillo is a wonderful artist. The world she takes us into is delightful, and each character in the story plays a significant role. The story is touching, heartwarming, and simply magical.
